so beautiful and heartbreaking, i had never heard this version before, although i listened to her studio versions a hundred times i am so very moved by all the little imperfections, because that's how great loss is, that's how you are when your world has been completely shattered i just lost my darling husband a few months ago, we met and fell in love in 1984 when i was still a teen, he was the most handsome young man i have ever seen, to this day i have never met anyone who could compare we were married 38 years, have two daughters (now 31 and 28) and recently we have three grand-babies he got only 59 years of life here, and suffered immensely in the last 4 months, he lost the chance of living to see his grandchildren grow up together he and i lost the chance to grow old together, after investing 40 years of love and patience, impatience too and compromise and joy, passion, our shared dreams, our entwined existence mostly we lost the most generous loving loyal husband ever, and frankly the very best friend me and my daughters have ever had i am in constant and tremendous pain and so moved when Angelina sings 'your friends the stars, this song's for you wherever you are'

I thought Angelina's previous studio recording of this song in black and white, piano and cello is her definitive version. But this rendition with a different pace and a live band is other worldly. I enjoyed this particular performance immensely when RS first put (it) up , but held back a while with (my) opinion. The first (studio) version of this didn't sound right i felt, particularly the use of echo and the lack of a rest immediately after 'the big moment'. Likewise the live next (live- studio) version, though impressive, seemed to lack something essential. However, Angelina's performance at Kongsberg is not only genuinely GREAT, but also herself has really worked on the song creating a CLASSIC piece of music. In a different moment of history, and with wider play, Million Miles, performed this way, would endear itself on the heart of every music lover who heard it, whatever their age, gender or mindset.

Adriaan: I was there and saw a broadcast quality camera shooting only the first minute of 'Mount Everest' ... I'm assuming it was a clip for promotional purposes, maybe Republic Records, as it was not seen again. R (Australia)

I think you are right that no other professional recordings have been made in Sandefjord, nor in Kongsberg. I’m hoping she will come back next year again. For me it’s not too far (I live in France). Although seeing Angelina perform at Sandefjord was indeed the highlight of my trip, I did also see Aurora Aksnes in Oslo the following month and Arooj Aftab at the Edinburgh Festival, followed by the Sant Andreu Jazz Festival in Barcelona. Angelina's mother, Sara, did invite me to meet her famous daughter after the show but I couldn't think of anything sensible worth saying in a few minutes, so I chickened out! Maybe if she debutes her album next year she will promote it with a world tour ... she may even come to Australia! Ron.

@@branscombeR Hi Ron, thank you for your message. I’ve been able to exchange 50 messages on YT with another fan before taking the conversation off line. When the exchange gets too long it gets tedious, because YT collapses the discussion multiple times. Nice to hear that you went to other concerts while you where in Europe, and that Angelina was the highlight! I talked to Sara before the concert and she said she could make me meet Angelina, but it didn’t happen. I heard from another fan that she told him too, he waited very long after the concert, but she didn’t appear. He said she maybe forgot. I would have loved to meet her and tell her how much I enjoy her songs. I hope to get to talk to Sara again and hopefully Angelina too, at her next concert. Yes, when she releases her album, she might do a world tour. But I also hope she will continue her studies, because she’s very gifted and she will do good developing all her talents.
