"Take her to the moon for me. Okay?" Bing Bong's death scene gets me every time. The VA, Richard Kind, actually cried while delivering that line. The voice break is real.
@robertshields41605 ай бұрын
I haven't seen the new one, but I REALLY hope they do a little nod to Bing Bong. I was thinking something like a poster of the moon on Riley's wall or a model rocket on a shelf in her room.

This movie is INCREDIBLE with color theory. Riley: striped shirt as they're moving with all colors on them to show theyre in harmony, or so it seems. yellow jacket on the first day of school because she's still young enough to be excited. Striped shirt sans blue and yellow at the dinner table because all of her emotions are fighting for control with joy and sadness gone. Black jacket because she's emotionally shutting down. Emotions: joy has blue hair, backing up the theory joy and sadness go hand in hand. Disgust has a purple ascot, suggesting disgust is mainly motivated by what scares us. Anger is wearing a red tie showing how when were angry, we can't see, hear, or feel anything else. Think, "seeing red". Fear itself is purple, a mix of red and blue, or in this case, anger and sadness. And finally Sadness is wearing a white turtleneck as a combination of all the emotions, like how all light is combined to make white light.

This is probably one of the most creative movies Pixar has made in my opinion. Especially the moral behind it. Never try to shadow your inner conflicts and uncomfortable feelings with happiness, always embrace those moments of sorrow and doubt with others and with yourself. Because you just won’t be hurting others if you don’t, you would be hurting yourself the most. You’ll be hurting the real you that YOU are meant to be. Hiding your true inner definition. Never try to bottle those emotions up. Always be true to yourself and true to all of your emotions and accept them for what they can do to benefit your life.

When they're tossing memories, they're not just getting rid of stuff she doesn't need. They're getting rid of stuff that was associated with the island that was just destroyed. And for the record, if at any point you've ever said, "I'm not a kid anymore.", that's how you know YOUR goofball island has been destroyed.

I can really relate to Riley. I had to move away from my best friends when I graduated elementary school and I still think about them❤ I miss them so much, it’s important to not bottle up your emotions. So many childhood memories 💕🥺 It’s good to cry every once in a while. I remember seeing this movie in theaters when it first came out! Me and my sister got disgust and joy and sadness plushies. This film means a lot to me, it’s so good!💗💖 thank you so much for watching this masterpiece! I love your reaction!🥹

Bing Bong making you cry for the first time is like "welcome to adulthood" because your Bing Bong is dead. It's no use saying that you still remember your imaginary friend, that's not the one that sacrificed themself to keep you functional, the one that did is forgotten forever.

Fun (or maybe not?) Fact: In one tie in book that tells the 1st movie’s story from Sadness’s POV, it’s described that Sadness feels…something seemingly compelling her to touch the memories for Riley’s own good…almost as if Riley’s mind is subconsciously saying ‘Help me’ from underneath the layers of suppression Sadness is undergoing.

When it comes to Pixar films that make you cry, everyone always brings up the first 10 minutes of Up, or the ending of Toy Story 3, or basically any scene in Coco. For me however, that scene at the end where Riley finally breaks down and admits that she feels sad, and then her parents comfort her and admit they feel the same way? That one always gets me

Like in Europe we don't like brusselsprouts but in japan they don't like Brocolli as a kid. So depending on the regional version that you watch you'll see different vegetables on her plate.

The film does have a good message - all emotions have a time and place and that includes sadness. The film doesn't really have an antagonist. The closest thing to an antagonist is either Gloom (when the console continues to get darker) or Joy herself being a control freak wanting a single-emotion mind.

1. I don’t cry at any movie really. Growing up, I’ve never cried at movies or TV shows, etc. Nor have I ever seen anyone cry at those things. It was only till 2021 when I started noticing that more and more people have been crying at movies, TV shows, and shit like that. So, even now, it’s all really weird to me. 2. It’s funny how some people just automatically berate Sadness for affecting Riley, especially at unnecessary moments only to praise her in the future. They scold Sadness at one point and yet they think it’s okay to cry, let alone to be sad. Not only that but a majority of people have also been berating Joy for doing what she did when her intention was just to keep Riley happy. 3. Fun fact: I’m not the only one who didn’t cry at this movie. VKunia also stayed strong. I feel like everyone else broke. 4. Someone I went to middle school wit actually took her kid to see the sequel in theaters and cried watching her daughter watch the film. First film that kid ever went to.
