Yo I love your work @RonGotSole... I did a toe box on an air flight 89 and it’s cracking basically right away at the upper portion before the tongue. I didn’t prep it properly. Already know that. But did you use the duller as a sealent? I was using the Matt acrylic ... and it gave it a shine I didn’t like. Would love some advice

The stencil really gives it some depth! I appreciate the tip on sanding the high wear areas, as I primarily do kids shoes. I was wondering why you didn’t use a finisher or clear matte spray, does the sanding step make additional protection unnecessary? I’ll definitely be checking out all of your videos.

Would the 2hard be flexible enough to paint a whole sneaker with plastic or plastic like surface such as maybe a foam posite?
@RonGotSole5 жыл бұрын
It would help with the adhesion. But it's more important to prep the surface. Multiple passes with sand paper to help the paint have something to grab onto
@AngelusBrand5 жыл бұрын
2- Hard may not be flexible enough for that and could cause some cracking. For something like a foamposites we suggest some light sanding and adhesion promoter. Then apply light coats of just straight Angelus paint.If you have any more questions feel free to contact us at Info@angelusshoepolish.com kzbin.info/www/bejne/pn6cl2mbgrOlprs

It's strictly user preference but It's probably a good idea to use some kind of respirator and gloves when working with Acetone or our Leather Preparer and Deglazer. Some of the chemicals could be harmful to your body.
@nickp31733 жыл бұрын
The deglazer is basically acetone. And even if you wear plastic disposable gloves, the minute the acetone touches them they disintegrate anyways almost immediately. Just have to man up and let your fingers get all dried out and stained when removing paint. It's not fun lol

We would not add a matte finish unless you add duller into the finisher. Remember, all our paints contain a little finisher in it already. So ultimately, applying a finisher is optional.

@scottishkicks84445 жыл бұрын
Danny Topete doesn’t have to be an angelus finisher but it does need a finisher
@AngelusBrand5 жыл бұрын
Angelus Finisher is optional. It should provide a little extra protection but it's main purpose is to give the project a nice sheen. If the shoe is prepped well and the paints are applied correctly then the custom will be durable and last with no finisher needed.

@AngelusBrand4 жыл бұрын
Nope, actually finisher is optional and has very little to do with the paints durability. Proper prep is the main step to a custom that won't chip. Finisher will help against minor scratches and scrapes but ultimately is used to give the project a desired sheen.

@@AngelusBrand Wish i'd known that before I bought it, most of the other customisers on your channel use finisher and most appear to use matte (+ duller) to get a matt finish, no sheen (or is it sheen but no shine? ... I've confused myself now, haha )
