TL;DR This video was 🔥🔥, dude has good skills, and I like his "just do you" out look on customizing. Makes it alot less scary to start customs 👍. I like this video, it's pretty inspiring to know that you can still demonstrate your own style and creativity, without necessarily having to put a "face" or a "character" on a shoe. Tbh watching this tutorial made getting into customs a lot less intimidating. No need. The 2-Hard will harden onto that surface. You need it flexible on the leather.

Hey Danny, you can let it sit. No need for the finisher. It will not prevent the paint from coming off. It will however provide a "finished look". If that is what you are going for, then choose the finisher that you prefer most.

It maybe something to test and experiment with. We personally don't have any experience with that type of shoe. Rubber can be tricky to paint on and we try to avoid it in most situations.

Yes use the Preparer and deglzer. It is a absolute must to ensure the paint will adhere and last on the shoe. You shouldnt be able to see the difference of the finished that has been removed.

So glad u mentioned not doing the soles. I'm looking at my trip black huarache beaters that always bounce back on foot... but the sole keeps the creases. Thanks for watching. Using an airbrush could have quite a learning curve so it's something that may take some time to get comfortable with. Once you get that down then it can really step up your custom game. Whether you are spraying or painting by hand, it's all about the light coats.

Although Angelus paint can be applied to rubber of shoes, it is not guaranteed to hold up. Therefore it is not recommended to paint on that part of the shoe. It will most likely crack with any creasing or bending.

Try doing a real light sanding with a high grit sandpaper. This will provide some texture to help the paint adhere better. Then clean the area with our Leather Preparer and Deglazer. I'm doing these with a bit of my own flavor, for lil sisters bday this week. Without a spray gun, what's your best method and type of finish do u use and just light coat brush strokes? Any help would be great. The nylon specifically but how u finish both that and leather parts with no compressor/gun?

Overall, the finisher is optional. The most important part is the prep. For the nylon areas, add a 50/50 mix of paint and Angelus 2-Soft, apply light coats and then heat set using a heat gun. For the leather, use our Leather Preparer and Deglazer to remove the factory finish. This will allow the paint to adhere and last. At the very end, if you choose to, apply 1-2 light coats of the finisher of your choice. Each finisher will provide a different amount of shine while adding a little extra protection against scuffs. Shake it well. You just need a very thin coat. You can alway apply a 1/10 ratio. So literally a drop of duller. Good luck
