I am a 75 yo Florida native. I wanted to salute you for interacting with the Cub Scouts. Back in 1957, 67 years ago, my Mom was my Den Master, later I grew old enough to become a Boy Scount. It served me and my fellow Scouts well in life. It even served and prepared me well when I joined the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. I had to share how you touched me and brought joy knowing that Scouting is still alive with fine examples of truly Good Adult Men, like you Brandt, influencing the Scouts of today, who become the leaders of tomorrow. Thank you, for setting such a fine example for the young men of today. You are a fine example for those boys to follow. 👍👏👏👏✌️ I Salute you, Sir.

That shark was determined to not be in your catch and cook! I was fishing artificial a couple weeks ago down in Tierra Verde here in the Tampa Bay Area…. Just bouncing my little Vudu shrimp one night and was not expecting much but the fish started showing up…. Then a 24+ inch snook latched on to my Vudu shrimp right by the seawall but it was low tide and there is like a 3 - 5 row of rocks all the way down the sea wall. Instead of being gentle I wanted to yoke this fish up on the wall with me as fast as possible…. The snook laid down on the rock and shook my lure right off his mouth. That same look you had here when the shark shook off the gaff, same kind of look I had. I had a crowd watching too. Not only was I disappointed the spectators were equally as sad because they were enjoying the show. Don’t beat yourself up Brant! I rarely see you lose once they are in the boat or on shore with you… I’ve been following the channel for maybe 6+ yrs now.

No shark for you!😂 Aa a long time shark fisherman, I am going to share my Golden Rules with you: ALWAYS use steel leaders of at least 100 lb test. Also, if you have a shark you want to harvest, kill it IMMEDIATELY. I have learned these lessons the hard way! Great video, because it was HONEST and those are always the best kind!❤

back in the 60,s dad had a big surf pole and Garcia reel with 50 lb test fishing off the old Moss Landing pier south of Watsonville california, he hooked something and it took off out to sea never slowed down then broke the 50 lb test when he tightened the drag all the way down, they use to have shark derbies there way before Jaws came out so everyone figured it was a huge shark

Man that’s about like my luck. I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. It seems like it would’ve floated back up after the cut in the oxygen tanks. A buddy of mine I used to go to Mexico beach with always cut their throats to the cartilage then up each side a little bit and stuck em in the heart. He had a very sharp very big knife he kept out there with him as we stood in water 4 feet deep shark fishing. If I was sober like I am now I don’t think I would’ve done all that nonsense lol. We used to drink a lot down there while we fished. You did lose a great eating fish tho.

Hey Brant, love the content as always. Makes me want to come down to that part of the country and fish for some monsters for sure! Just curious why you always cast with your right hand covered by your neck gaiter? Does that help you grip when throwing something heavy or am I missing something obvious. Thanks and keep up the good work!
