I just figured out one reason I enjoy watching your video's, besides seeing our beautiful North Shore area. The way you play the mandolin is the same relaxed way my Dad did.[ He played norwegian folk songs] You have the same feel with the violin- I inherited both instruments- he used to play guitar but when I was young we lived in Alaska for a few years. At that time they were house parents for a pre-delinquent teen home -- on a hike one time my dad put the guitar down and one of the boys didn't see the guitar and sat on it. End of guitar- I tinkered with the guitar in my teen's .... anyway... brings good memories- it's right that when you are in your senior years you tend to remember the past. Thank you for bringing back good memories of camping in MN northwoods and all the music I grew up surrounded by. Sorry so long - of course enjoy the info. Thank you - I'll be heading for Duluth with my 3 son's in a few weeks so that will be nice.

Thanks for that. I’ve literally dreamed of finding a site like the one in your sunset shot. Well done sir. That quilt looks amazing! I’m strictly a ‘hammock gear’ kinda guy, but that shockcord idea is pretty cool. I don’t know what was funnier, your reaction to the tea, or the hairy armpit right over the warbonnet url. I use a can stove, it lets me use a thermacell ‘backpacker’. The thermacell combined with a seasonal drenching of permethrin in my tarp and 40' under-quilt has kept me safe in CT., so far. I could care less about the weight. I take my thermacel, my folding stool and my 2qzq-tree-table everywhere with me. You guys sound fantastic, that practice has really paid off. Beautiful shots and sunset. Thanks for sharing.

Nice !! Love seein' the new gear, glad you're getting out. I borrowed your "zip a jacket around your hooves" technique this weekend while I too was camping for the Holiday weekend. I was car camping in a camp ground, so, I had to use my trusty ENO hammock stand with my ENO Double Nest. The hooves got a little cold the first night. My quilts are only 40 degree jobs, and with a diagonal lay, it left the hooves chilled from beneath. The jacket did the trick and I was snug as could be after that. Thanks for sharing that one. Best sleeping I get, inside the hammock. Lots of resting, read three books, ate well. Loved it.
