Leman and Lorgar are idiots, they completely failed to understand Angron’s basic character. Angron is broken and suicidal and you can’t teach a lesson in how to live to someone who literally wants you to kill them and has no reason to want to change.

Russ acting like several bolters would put Angron down is kind of silly. Lorgar took a shot from a volcano cannon and lived, and he was arguably the weakest primarch. Fulgrim beat a Wraithguard to death unarmored with his bare hands. This was always a fight between primarchs, and Russ lost. Russ thought this was a battle of ideas, but to the Red Angel this was just another battle. It reminds me of a rapier duelist(a fearsome fighter in their own right), trying to parry a gorilla. Or maybe a pig trying to out-argue a butcher with reason.

Well... AFAIK Lorgar is a powerful psyker. He didn't take the shot on his body but rather used his psychic powers to be able to take the shot on him, as far as I remember

Angron benchpressed warhound titan when it tried to step on him tho...couple bolters will not kill Angron, at least not quickly

Angron is my favorite primarch because he reminds me of guts from berserk his story is so harrowing and left him so broken. I believe that BIG E didn't save Angron's life he ruined his death

russ in his arrogance couldnt see that losing angron wouldnt matter for the world eaters but losing him would for the space furries russ in his arrogance couldnt see his death, so could never see beyond his death, even if in his boastfulness he claimed it was his plan angron won that fight, being surrounded and dying right after, if it even happened, would change nothing the moment of distraction, turning to fire on angron in rage and grief would just leave more openings for the world eaters to use to slaughter the mutant puppies while the death of angron would do nothing angron had to be important to the world eaters, because else it would be possible for russ to not be important for the space wolves, and he couldnt live with that lorgar missing the point right after, makes it even more obvious, the weakness shared by both the need to be important, the need to be the main character in a grander tale, the desperate need for relevance this fight proved those two primarchs weakness so obviously that its sad so many people missed it because they too have to think their life worth anything have to keep up the lie its sad some people actually see this fight as a win for russ, dont comprehend angrons broken mind still having wisdom its sad russ was never taught a lesson he should have been slapped out of the sky above prospero where he again in his arrogance couldnt see himself dying, but was only spared because magnus was hoping the moronic could for once in his life see reason but reason is a hurdle easily jumped for eager bloodshed, and the keeping of the secret of the abhumans in his legion

@@ashardalondragnipurake I’ve never seen it put that way, but you might be onto something. I think both Russ and Angron believe they won for different reasons, although the idea that surrounding Angron was taking an objective is laughable as you said.
