Both penalties were legit according the rules. I do sympathise with the offside rule even though phases are currently laws in the game. As far as I'm concerned, if you're on the green part of the pitch you affect play. Lovren can see Kane offside, a ball is played through to him and he's forced to react. It goes against instinct to leave a through-ball with hopes a referee calls it correct. But he's punished for trying to stop a foul ball going to an offside player. Kanes presence offside impacts decisions made by defenders. As soon as a ball is played with the intention of going to an offside player, them chasing the ball is irrelevant.

I'm confused about the offside. before watching this video I was discussing it and was told that apparently it hadn't been given offside because Lovren touched it. I've always been under the impression that even if the defender touches it, if the attacker is offside when the pass is made then they are offside? Klopp seems to say the same thing which is interesting, asking if there is a new rule.

Klopp is to the point here. Sometimes need to show some edge, so they don´t think everything goes. Remember "Clockwork Orange" and the brutal conditioning, eyes forced open, even moisturized, forced to watch violence with favourite song on played loud? That should be done to the referees for the overtime penalty: make them watch it for 20 years in a row, this time, and huge noise in the background shouting "NO PENALTY!" That would be a good idea!

Fact is referees got ALL BIG decisions right. 1. Delle Alli dived & was rightly booked. 2. Kane was standing in OFFSIDE POSITION but that by itself does not make an offside offence. Offside offence happens when Kane touches the ball/interferes with play but before that happens if defending team touches the ball, it's not offside. 3. VanDyk clearly kicked Lamela and it WAS A PENALTY. Doesn't matter if it was a soft penalty, doesn't matter it is 93 minute or 3rd minute. Klopp is sour grapes.
