@@CoercedJab Destroying them leads to more loss of life and I figure all races stand to benefit biologically from synthesis over just control. IIRC the Reapers were worried that somebody comparable to the reapers would be created, but instead of viewing organic life as something to be preserved, it would reach the conclusion that all organic life is a potential threat and the correct course of action, to ensure survival is to extinguish it. So instead of the reaper cycles, where races are allowed to develop to a certain degree, but non-developed species are left alone, a race of AI may purge ALL life they can because they're all potentially a threat to their existence. Synergy more or less solves the problem the Reapers have been trying to solve for millenia. We see the Reapers as a threat when they are beings that see the universe on an impossibly larger scale than us and to them the loss of trillions is still preferable to the complete loss of all organic life. In a way it still is beating the Reapers because with their efforts to preserve "organic" life I turn around and end all of it anyway which now completely negates they purpose of existence while still saving everyone in the process. this is just what my understanding of the Reapers is.

Mass Effect will for ever be a special experience for me. The way that narative structure and characters connect with the player is something i've never seen before or since, especally over 3 sequells, the way that amazing score ties everything together, the sense of wonder and discovery is just pure perfection. Witcher 3 is the only comparable game imo, but ME characters are much more fleshed out and player's connection to the NPCs (squad mates in particular) is on a much higher lever. This was the BIOWARE we knew and loved.

@@Pete-vz5uj idk if you were there for the vanilla ending and their response to the legitimate feedback... I mean they said it was fine and only then did we get the dlc patch job lol! But idk about supporting them financially again. It really torpedoes the journey. Indoctrination theory helps but instead of making a snyder cut including it they always pretended to have made the right decisions I vote with my wallet and idk The franchise deserves a modern interpretation and instead we are getting plastic surgery. Kinda sucks when I gotta pay for dlc I already bought. Of course no me 3 dlc bought since they had on disc locked dlc back at launch too lmao

ME2 is one of my all time favourite games, but I do believe both NieR titles has it beat in music by quite a lot. That's all subjective though of course.

I'll never forget my 1st hour playing ME2 on my PS3. There was NO other game available that brought the stylized visuals, atmosphere & pleasant music vibes as it did. I remember the chagrin I felt not being able to 1st play ME1 at the time, because it was an Xbox exclusive. Also, as somebody who later played Kingdoms of Amalur: The Reckoning on PS3, I actually got the N7 special Edition of that game which had the N7 Shepard Armor & Weapons package, which thereby in Mass Effect 3, I got the armor which was...meh, but the "Chakram Launcher" assault rifle, was absolutely the most overpowered weapon in the game, save for the Black Widow fully upgraded. If you're playing the PS5 Legendary ME3, (not sure if it was available on Xbox, or PC) I highly advise using & fully upgrading the Chakram Launcher. You'll eff'n love it!

I mean I agree and all, but sometimes games come out ahead of it's time. This is one of them. It deserved an update and hopefully reminded these companies that this is the type of game people love and they are willing to buy it. I gladly spent $60 for 3 games and all DLCs which was almost 250 hours of play time. Worth it for this series. It has plenty of replayability. Some games are cash grabs, but they put some work into this remaster, especially the first one.
