as someone who loved the first one, but had a few complaints about it, 2 has not only fixed what problems I had with the first one, it has made everything else better too. They really listened to all of the player complaints and fixed all of them. The bosses and their minion spawns were my biggest complaint in 1. In 2 the bosses are the coolest thing. theres a lot less of the minion spawn in boss fights, and the ones with minion spawn feel like it was intended instead of just tacked on to a big smashy monster boss who shouldn't need any.

I purchased it last week but had no idea you had to purchase the third version for $74 on steam to be able to play early. Just played it for about 80 hours and gross. The game looks horrible and the characters and all is janky. You have to head to certian spots when you enter the first town and the game doesn't point you to where you need to go which is so stupid. Once I finally figured everything out which didn't take long anyways because it's such a small town, I went back to speak to the elder guy and we went to some souls like portion of the game which makes no damn sense to me at all because they just throw you in the wannbe soul's like world with no health so you are killed upon killed with no health to used or health dropped. I had to ask myself, "What the hell is this game supposed to be?" I'm deciding to check out some walkthroughs here on KZbin because if the game is continously like this I'm going to get a refund back. It's onl $54 anyways and I just seen why. It's completely garbage to me. I swore everything was going to continue to be the way it was when you first start and fight th first boss but instead it feels janky as I said because it's like the game doesn't know what it wants to be.

There is a Prologue bug where Cass will not walk to the second door to open it. So you have to restart the entire prologue over again. It happened to me twice in a row, it's game breaking. Too many infinite spawning adds that will spawn all around you that all have homing ranged attacks. Alot of flying creatures will fly directly above you so you cannot see or hit them since you cannot aim straight up. Cannot upgrade armor anymore for the higher difficulties. The first difficulty is kinda easy. so I play on the next difficulty, but the leap is vast and it seems to take cheapo shots constantly for a solo player. I am often fighting 4-5 of the Elite enemies at once, while adds with homing attacks also spawn around them. Many of the bosses can hold their attacks, and have combos that stun lock you to death if you mess up. Takes more time to use your relic. Traits are extremely trimmed down. There is also a root smoke coughing bug, where sometimes if you get in a root rot cloud, even though you didn't contract root rot, you will cough constantly like you are in the gas still, you are incapable of walking or shooting more than 1 shot at a time, and have to restart , or roll to a checkpoint and sit at it, or go to a new area, to reset it. There will be special sub boss type enemies with their own healthbar at the top of the screen who will summon adds and even multiple Elite enemies while you fight them and they teleport around firing off AOES, while enemies fire at you with homing shots. The game seems to be designs with Multiplayer strictly in mind. Solo it feels like a nightmare in certain worlds / maps / dungeons.

I enjoyed the first game. However, it just simply wasn't balanced for solo play, which seems to have been remedied in the sequel. The foundation was solid the first time around, but there were some much needed improvements. Small issues are still prevalent in Remnant II. However, it's much better as a whole. $70 for an already content filled game, including DLC and various armor for the Ultimate Edition makes Remnant II a must buy as far as I'm concerned. Thanks, Karak! As always, I appreciate the honest, unbiased, and detailed review! Keep it up! God bless and stay safe!

This is an incredible review. Just your appreciation for the sound design and music sold me enough, a detail that MANY other reviews will gloss over or not even mention. I already had this pre-ordered a week or so ago and the more I see, the more excited I become, especially since I wasn't totally sold with Remnant 1 because the game felt a bit limited and claustrophobic in some areas. But now it seems like EVERYTHING has opened up and the worlds are SO DETAILED! Plus, the classes / archetypes are so much better defined and exciting now that I want to try all types of combinations and builds! It's almost like a brand new game series at points. Just an incredible sequel by Gunfire Games. These guys really made a sequel that shines so bright over the original and THIS is what a true sequel should do in its improvements and quality of life changes.

@nokturnallex2160 Жыл бұрын
So haven't heard anyone mention it yet. A problem in the first one was the way scaling worked. If you upgraded your weapons and armor, the enemies would just scale to your highest upgraded gear. Making upgrading actually a bad idea unless you upgraded everything at once to the same level. Did they fix this scaling issue in the 2nd one?
@ACGreviews Жыл бұрын
Whatever they did for sure is less of an issue here. You do notice some kind of bump, but we were able to go back tons of times and upgrade 1, 2 or maybe 3 parts and go back and still keep going without a huge issue. NOW that being said, of course there is scaling in some ways so that when going back through areas enemies continue to challenge.
@nokturnallex2160 Жыл бұрын
@@ACGreviews Yea if you still have access to the game the way you could test it is fighting a newly spawned enemy in an area with your gun, count how many shots it takes to kill it. Upgrade your gun 1 level, then reroll the area (can just use adventure mode if needed) and see if it takes less shots or the same to kill it. If it takes the same, then the scaling issue is still an issue. (In the first game the enemy HP would just increase to compensate for any dmg increase your guns got which mean upgrading did almost nothing lol, in fact it could make the game harder if you didn't upgrade everything at once) Oh and it has to be your highest upgraded weapon.

Our gaming group is finding some problems with it. Getting stuck on a checkpoint crystal while in a group and not being able to exit it is one. The map not uncovering for everyone in the group and staying that way the next session is another. The difficulty balance in groups when in Survivor mode seems a bit high...almost equal to the next difficulty up. The feeling of not accomplishing much in the story or keeping up with storyline beyond what everyone spouts out in the town in excessive dialogue is a bit annoying. Other than that, it's kind of fun for a while and gets more fun as your character gets a little more powerful. It sure is hard to play in rando groups though as people go in 2 separate directions, won't go 5 paces to the stone to bring someone in, or just run off away from you as fast as possible not caring if you keep up or not. I swear there are some spastic, selfish players...and some that are not and make good groups. I wish there was some sort of chat option on console to coordinate things.

for people who haven't played remnant before, if you're looking for a game with a strong story and a perfectly crafted world that tells a story, this isn't the game for you. if you want to play a soulslike with guns and none of the "return to your corpse or you lose stuff" BS, is made for coop, and highly replayable, this is the game for you. Both are 2 of my favorite coop games of all time, ESPECIALLY 2 with its new archetype system. The first one everyone was kinda generic and if you wanted to fill out a certain role you had to get the right armor and weapon mods. the stuff that benefitted a specific role have been moved to archetypes and so now you have a definted role from the start, you can unlock all the archetypes and have two and switch them on the fly. its great. No need to reroll a new character in the Remnant games, you can get everyone thing and keep it all on one character. remnant 2 does give you a tiny incentive to reroll a new character. if you have some friends who are just starting and you dont want to jump in with a maxed out character, you can start a new one as any of the archetypes you unlocked and they will start with the armor set tied to that class (that you may or may not have gotten when you got the archetype on your main) and a set of weapons, many of which are boss ones for the secret archetypes.

Traditionally think you make some great videos. Just noticed an issue with this video. I work with vocals too being a music artist and noticed that there appears to be pretty major audio clipping present. To me it sounds like a “noise remover/reducer” with the setting dialed to the max. Or you’re trimming the audio segments too close. When watching this video the first few letters to the start of a sentence are cut off. So instead of hearing the word “that” for instance, it would sound like “at”. Made watching this video a little tough. Perhaps as a suggestion, you could dial back that setting and I’m sure it would sound like the older videos you’ve made and be much clearer without audio clipping when you speak. Just some food for thought ✌🏻

9:37 AW I felt that lmao. Yeah story/procedural concerns aside, this looks pretty amazing. My friend group recently went through Remnant 1 and we're now doing Elden Ring Coop, but I can see us diving into Remnant 2 sooner or later as this does look very fun; especially with friends.

Shooting feels better!? Impossible! It was already the absolute best 3:rd person shooter guns feeling.
@RJaime869 Жыл бұрын
At 1:26 Karak mentions that you unlock the Archetype for the Gunslinger later in game. This has been one thing that’s been stuck on my mind for character creation! How long into the game do you unlock this? Is it like the other starting archetypes where you’ll be able to get them early on?
@xPetyr Жыл бұрын
It's early but i think it has a little RNG involved since the devs says no 2 playthroughs will be the same
@RJaime869 Жыл бұрын
@@xPetyr so as far as you know, it’s not like obtaining the other starting archetypes?
@tinfoilmkiv8394 Жыл бұрын
@@RJaime869 The starter archetype choices can be purchased in the hub area. The non-starter ones have to be discovered out in the world. This game also has a lot more hidden rewards for doing more difficult things or solving entirely optional puzzles. So I feel pretty confident that you could go for a while without discovering a non-starter archetype, just due to rng or from missing it.

I am definitely getting this game after hearing so many great feedbacks! I was going to get Diablo 4, but that gotta wait 😂 I am getting Remnant 2!!! The fact that This game is selling at $50 dollars with a 20-30 hour campaign in coop is huge! And if anyone notice that this game also is releasing with a physical edition in stores, it will make you question 👀 Remedy Studios decision to make Alan Wake 2, online only purchase for $60 bucks! Hmmm 🤔 then how did these developers ☝️ manage to get this high quality game as low as $50 dollars both online and physical disc, but Remedy can’t for Alan Wake 2!!!! Someone got some explaining to do 🙃

Loving the game so far, they've very much built on the strong foundation they had with Remnant 1 and just improved every area. Only a few criticisms so far, it's way too easy to get stunlocked if there's any non-flat geometry around and having a light armor build is extremely hard as it seems 80% of the armor sets are medium, 15% are heavy with 5% being light, so given that you can't unequip the armor, you're stuffed until you find items that lower your overall weight, secondly some of the dialogue goes on wayyyy too long, it's like asking a Dungeon Master's NPC one thing about the area and they spend the next half hour lore dumping about their world, it gets a bit tedious. But honestly, those are minor criticisms, the active skills feel bloody great in conjunction to the weapon powers and the huge effort they've put into enabling build diversity is extremely impressive, with 4 ring slots, heaps of weapon mods and mutators (like a minor enchantment kinda thing), and the equippable passives for your tiny +2.335467% Increased Critical Hit chance and more, it just comes together so well. Big shoutout to the people who made the puzzles as well, just enough to make you think and give you a change in pace, but not enough to make you want to quit. Solid 8/10 for me, strong reccomend, and if you have friends to play this with you'll enjoy it even more.

Hyped for this game and love that the full ultimate edition with all upcoming DLC and early release is only $70 when big studios are pumping out just vanilla annual roster updates for that same price. Great review! Appreciate the critiques that others aren’t mentioning with the annoying randomly generated side quests etc etc.

And the quality seems to surpass most of those big studio titles too. Sad to see how often these "smaller" games are often passed up for the next re-skinned COD or Assassin's Creed.

How does the melee combat feel? I was really interested in this part of the sequel. Is a melee build viable? Enough options for weapons there?
@tinfoilmkiv8394 Жыл бұрын
Definitely viable. Feels a good bit better than the first. Some weapons still a bit clunky but might be more a factor of weapon class. There's definitely more support for it and the average enemy seems to be balanced more with melee in mind. Most of them actually give you the space to land the first hit and not eat a nasty trade for it. Remnant 1 melee was entirely viable, but making a melee focused build really needed you to dedicate most of your equipment and talents towards it. I did a full nightmare run solo with a melee build. Not exclusively melee, since there's a few bosses you outright can't melee. But played it more like the inverse of a normal build. where ranged weapons were the backup and support. Remnant 2 gives you a lot more resources to specialize in melee in a variety of ways, and still have space to add other tricks to your build. So I'd say it's in a much better place this game.

9:38 - I would Alt+F4 right when and there. Still - Remnant 1 was awesome. And it's good to hear, that if feels more easy on you in you play solo. However I wasn't expecting anything at all in terms of story, since the game is procedural. So not much can be done there. For sure will play it all the way until Baldur's Gate 3. Which will last until winter... of 2025.

I never played the first title, I was juggling too many games at the time and just didn't get around to it; plus I wasn't a fan of Dark Souls style games at that time (thankfully Sekiro completely changed that). Now thanks to how fantastic Sekiro was(my personal game of that year), I was able to immediately fall in love with Elden Ring(currently on NG+5); and as a newcomer to this franchise I'm hyped to try out Remnant 2. I took a chance and pre-ordered the Ultimate edition (the Gunslinger archetype really sold it for me), now here's hoping I end up loving Remnant 2 just as much as I love Sekiro and Elden Ring.
