Jasmine Pearsall disgruntled employees released a bunch of accusations. Channel awesome then responded accidentally corroborating them. Every one now hates the CEO and to a lesser extent the Walker brothers and most of the content creators have jumped ship. Some are saying Brad Jones and the only other remaining guy are under contract so they can't leave (don't know if that is true or not). So yeah shit has hit the fan real bad. I would recommend watching Fredrick Knudsen's streams on it.

I'd say it was alright at best give it a 5 out 10. It was very cringy watching them make stupidest decisions. Like the flooded basement scene where the monster is down there with them. Like seriously all she had to do is grab the pillow or whatever behind her and throw it. It would had made a splash and the monster would had recacted to the splash sound. And dude knows there are a bunch of monsters outside but decide to leave his shotgun at home LIKE SERIOUSLY DUDE WTF. The plot is itself was stupid. So in regards to the premise, if you think about it on a large, let's say Nationwide, scale then yes this would be dumb. However John's character confirmed there were only three of them, which to me indicated that this was an isolated occurrence in the movie's world and the town was really secluded. So you can assume that by the time people realized what happened they focused on surviving rather than fighting as we saw. Plus it could've been the very specific frequency that the treating aid produced to immobilize them rather than any high pitched sound. Just my take on it.

The fact that they decided to have a baby is kind of what gave the movie its heart. They lost a child in the opening sequence, and then dealt with their grief by having another one. It's tender and defiant at the same time. Also, it elevates the intro beyond a mere introduction for the monster, which it easily could have been.

Maybe it's just me and like my background but I really loved it, I would probably give it a 8.5 or 9 just based off of the movie but considering they had amazing actors, they had actual deaf people come on and make sure the sign language was well done and it was realistic, plus they actually hired a deaf actress, it's one of my favorite movies of this year. There were some stupid moments but I really enjoyed the movie, the actors, how the movie was made, etc. it's a really interesting movie and I really liked it.

The thing about why didn't anybody else figure out to use sound against the monsters. The timeline implies that it was a slow process at first, with the missing person posters. Then it probably ramped up quickly. There was also newspaper headlines that told everyone that the monster hunt by sound which was way after the monsters had already invaded, so the military was probably at least crippled at that point. Now here is the most important point. Any time someone tried something against the monsters and it didn't work, that person was killed. So if they thought sound might work, if they just tried pure loudness and it didn't work, they would then have to fight the monster which is insanely hard to do. If they tried different frequencies and it didn't work, same thing. So if the military was testing sound against them, every time it didn't work they would have to fight off all the monsters they attracted and by doing so probably attract more. And also, if you were trying to build defenses or weapons, you have to be quiet while you do it. You couldn't even hammer a nail or it could attract the monsters. So good luck building anything. That's why it took so long to figure out their weakness.

As an American Sign Language interpreter, Joe, the signs they used all throughout the movie are actual ASL signs. The actress playing the Deaf daughter is Deaf in real life. It was not a hearing aid, she had a Cochlear implant (which requires surgery and is implanted in the skull). They had an ASL interpreter on set at all times to help them learn ASL, and to correct them if they used a sign improperly. I adored this movie because it had great representation for the Deaf community, by going to extra lengths to ensure they were properly using ASL and hiring a Deaf actress to portray the Deaf individual, so she could share her unique perspective towards the movie's universe.

I have to disagree this is certainly a horror, to a massive horror buff, fair enough, I can see why you would think that, but coming from someone who’s not really into horror, this film was terrifying, it was really refreshing to see something that wasn’t just a jump scare to the next jump scare, great characters, great monster design, coming from someone who’s really into monster flicks, the film made me hide in my jacket 10/10

Just double-checked the ending. The last two of the creatures are coming to kill the family after they find out their "friend" has been slaughtered. Except Emily Blunt will give 'em hell and oh yeah, sequel officially confirmed just recently :)

The creatures are not weak to sound, somehow when they use their ears it causes a feedback loop with the "more powerful" hearing aid the dad made which blows their face armor wide open.
