I hate Choir Boys much worse. For one line from Spongebob: “Great, now I get a break. Now I have a captive audience.” This is a line that shows that in that scene, Spongebob is aware that the jellyfish are holding him down, and electrocuting him, forcing him to listen to SpongeBobs singing. And Spongebob doesn’t care. He is shown to be evil. Not a well meaning light hearted guy who means well. He is willing to harm someone for his own gain. And what comeuppance does Spongebob get? He replaces Squidward in the choir. And Squidward is shown to be upset.

That toenail scene I have to ask, why did they give him a toenail anyway? Why couldn't it just be his foot the couch landed on? It'd make more sense and the audience would be in less pain. Probably wouldn't have been funny, but would have been a better viewing experience.

Rodeo Daze was...really, really strange. SpongeBob thinking Sandy was in danger for virtually no reason, nobody caring about his concern, the entire ending, including the very last line(s) of the episode...it was all just _odd._

Like, if SpongeBob’s worrying is stupid, the townsfolk agrees its stupid, and the episode wasted time on nothing, they should remove all that filler, and make the episode be about SpongeBob and Patrick joining Sandy at the Rodeo, where it feels like going to a Wild West Circus, especially with the Rodeo Clown.

You did a much better job analyzing the episodes and it was refreshing to hear you say several positive things even about episodes you didn't like. I don't know why people hate the twist in "Shuffleboarding" so much. It's supposed to be situational irony where the audience thinks one thing will happen, but then something else does. I find it funny how we think they're gonna go shuffleboarding and then SpongeBob drops this bombshell where he essentially says to Patrick, "We already did that off screen, remember?" In a show that has become quite predictable, it was funny to see that. Plus, I don't think it would have been entertaining to see them shuffleboarding anyway. The reason why the writers changed their minds about the plot is because they realized that too. Granted, I don't care for the rest of the episode where they act like idiots and arrest people for stupid reasons, but I just wanted to defend the plot twist.

I don't think it works as situational irony. They spend the title and half of the episode establishing the story, then abruptly change to something that just comes off as phoned-in. It's one thing to play on audience expectations in a humorous way, but to me this felt like a cheap trick used as an excuse to completely change stories.

Very nice analysis. It's so refreshing to see someone talk about post-movie Spongebob with a much more open-minded perspective. Just out of curiosity, have you seen any of the post-Sponge Out of Water episodes? I personally don't think it's on par with the classic era, but IMO a couple eps do come pretty close and most of the rest are at least decent. I'm really glad I discovered this channel, and am really interested to see where this is going to go.

It's pleasing to see someone that can look back at these episodes with an open-minded and experienced view, even providing solutions for their issues so that they can be applied to future works, heck, you've even allowed me to rethink a few with your arguments defending House Fancy besides "Squidward wins, so get lost." Thank you! Honestly, I went into this channel hoping to inspire others to review more thoughtfully. Some folks called my old review videos inspiring, which makes me shudder. Inspired what? More narrow-minded, hateful rants that amount to little more than "This is different! This sucks and its makers are stupid!"? It's more than just not constructive, it's just plain disrespectful to the folks who actually put hard work into what they do. Although, how is giving "Atlantis Squarepantis" and "The Clash of Triton" individual reviews pretentious? From a production standpoint, it'd be much more manageable for me to tackle them one-by-one as opposed to putting them both into one extremely long video. But I do understand the concern over allowing room for other works. Believe me, I have no intention of oversaturating this channel with SpongeBob videos, and it's going to be quite some time before I go back to those two specials.

Overall though, besides calling out the writers, and getting a bit angry you've never done much of wrong. On the subject of SpongeBob's voice, do you find discomfort with his changed voice? Starting near the end of Season 3 and becoming really apparent in the first movie, his voice became a lot higher pitched and brought out a lot more of the child in him. On one hand, it's common for cartoon characters' voices to get higher over time to accomodate for bigger and more emotional performances (good examples include Homer Simpson, Cosmo from FOP and even Twilight Sparkle for some ears). On the other hand, there's a ton more crying and screaming in these episodes, which Tom Kenny does way too well, not really benefitting SpongeBob's image as a happy go-lucky cartoon, ahem, Nicktoon character. What are your thoughts on it?

Hey, it's nice to see you again and to know you aged pretty well and become more mature in your videos, it feels good. The review was pretty great with a GREAT selection of songs (Spongebob videogames OST are usually pretty awesome) but I have two things to say about theses episodes - Dear Vikings has a very VERY rushed ending (like, it just ends.. There's no conclusion, it just ends after a random event.) - I actually really liked the plot twist in Shuffleboarding that it wasn't about Shuffleboarding.. at all! But too bad they ruined the new promise because the joke would have worked if they didn't. Can't wait for the review of Atlantis and Clash of Triton. I'll watch your others reviews right away! Also, I wonder, do you will make an updated Worst Spongebob Episodes list? (Since I know you'll not make a new fan one.) I remember playing through "Revenge of the Flying Dutchman," and I'll admit it wasn't the most engaging or exciting of the SpongeBob games (it definitely feels like it was made with a younger demographic in mind). I didn't dislike it, but I enjoyed "Battle for Bikini Bottom" much more. "The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie" game was alright, but I didn't like how it had substantially less content than and way more linear than BfBB.

Second of all, since you're not reviewing the fan-edition, i would like to point out something that i haven't realized upon watching it again: Remember when you said that Tom Kenny should redo his laughs from Squidward In Clarinetland? Well that was because the episode file you got for said countdown had a lowered-pitch audio, probably to avoid copyright, hence why it sounded so off. Heck, even Squidward and Mr. Krabs have a deeper voice because of it. Thirdly, now that you're exploring more animations, i would like you to review The Girl Who Leapt Through Time or Summer Wars, both from Mamoru Hosoda, who has become one of my favorite directors And fourth, you're talking about the PPGboot next? What about Face Freeze? That was a terrifying episode. All they did was waste all 11 minutes of episode time by making the creepiest face ever and getti stuck that way. Awful plot and awful writing.

As much as I like your videos, I find it upsetting that even though Mr. Enter has ALSO changed and become less caustic and more mature, nobody here seems to be giving him credit, but instead blaming him for things he stopped doing YEARS ago. He doesn't yell at or harass writers anymore, he doesn't rant anywhere near as much, and now he actually brings up good points. He's matured and changed just as you have, and I think you ALSO need to realize that because you seem to think he's just like you used to be. It pisses me off when two people improve a similar amount but one discounts the other's changes and acts like they're doing the same old thing they did before.

How the flying foam fingers did they get away with the stinking house fancy scene? That scene traumatized me so fricking hard as a kid. I'm still horrified of it to this day! You know you fricked up when JOJO'S BIZZARE ADVENTURE, A SERIES KNOW FOR IT'S EXTREME GORE HAS A LESS GRAPHIC TOENAIL REMOVAL SCENE! I hate that scene so fucking much.
