I know this is a year and a half late, but regarding the "get naked/real estate joke," this could be a reference to an idiom in economics. "Losing your shirt" means an extreme loss in an investment. It's something that applies to any economic and financial investment; this includes purchasing homes and house-flippling. So basically, it could mean that "getting naked" is Patrick being literal.

Shame, I think you're missing out on a lot of great stuff, and I think had you watched some episodes, at least one could've very easily made the list. Probably Mimic Madness, as that's gotten the most love. Still, I can't deny that nearly all of your picks were pretty dang great ones. Even with the one I'm not crazy about (Club SpongeBob), that whole "everything will reset" thing made me gain more appreciation for it.

The Ripped Pants episode is a perfect metaphor for meme humor. Most memes are funny the first few times you see them, but people quickly run the joke to the ground to the point where you forget why it was ever funny in the first place.

i feel like all modern memes are an expert example of this_ take a look at ishowspeed and talking ben_ from ever since the first conversation between the two, people have been making sure the two’s fights remain the top meme_ it’s meant to be funny because seeing talking ben answer yes or no questions about big things like supporting those who are black or gay is sorta hilarious_ also because you never exactly know how ben will answer that question_ but of course, the internet follows their own rules and restrictions, and have to beat it to the ground_

7 Years. I was not disappointed. My favorite episodes are (in no order) 1. It’s a SpongeBob Christmas! 2. Lost Mattress 3. Pizza Delivery 4. F.U.N 5. Plankton’s Pet 6. Band Geeks 7. Sailor Mouth 8. Idiot Box 9. Pineapple Invasion 10. Skill Crane Granted, you may not know most of these episodes and stopped watching around Season 8, but a few I mentioned are from Season 9 (ie Pineapple Invasion and Plankton’s Pet). These come before and after the second movie but these are two I would recommend watching if you have any free time.

I'll be honest. When I originally watched your Worst Spongebob Episodes list from all those years back, it was like, a really cathartic moment for me. I was very new to the internet at the time and I was so happy to finally find someone who, like me, was as unhappy with how the Spongebob franchise went downhill: and your videos on it managed to make me feel so satisfied that I wasn't the only one who felt that way. I was in maybe late middle school early high school at the time. So most kids I hung out with preferred to talk about other things than rant about Spongebob. But I was particularly passionate about the topic, and I when I discovered your video it was like this huge release: suddenly I wasn't the only one who cared about the topic, suddenly there was a field for discussion about it. And I really didn't mind your angered tone, because I felt similarly. So fast forward to 8 or so years later, you present this top 10 favorites list, and I watched the entire list and... something feels remarkably satisfying about this moment. I watched this video a few days ago and didn't really have much to say about it, but after taking a moment to compose my thoughts I actually came to a strange conclusion. Just like your previous videos about the topic you used music from Spongebob games I played as a kid, and your opinions seem to very much match my own in many ways. My personal top 10 list would look a little differently, but for the most part I found this list to be very agreeable. What is fascinating is that... watching this video gave me a bit of a change in perspective if you will: I realized that deep down, I've always felt connected to you as a creator. Whether it was your work as MobrosStudios or ClockworkCreeper or Anim8ball, I always followed you where you went because you always created things that showed just how passionate you are about things. Your heart shines through your work, your care shines through your work, and I connect to that on a personal level. When I watch your content i'm always rooting for you no matter what direction you take, because I want to see you follow your passions. I suppose that in this quiet world we live in... following our passions can bring us many places we never could have dreamed of reaching. Your influence on me has been immeasurable, you introduced me to YTP, and you introduced me to some of my favorite creepypastas. I think that of all the KZbinrs I've come across, regardless of how funny, successful, interesting, or influential they are: you have always been by far the most inspirational to me. I've waited a few years for this, and I have got to say that you a great job as usual. Before this came out, I was expecting the top 10 list from your q&a panel a few years ago, but part of me had a feeling that some of your tastes have changed. When I was a kid, I disliked the kelp forest level. I haven't seen all of Squishward in clarinet land, but I do think it's interesting. I never noticed that the scene in squeaky boots was similar to that of Tell Tale Heart (been years since I've read that story). I knew that Band Geeks would be on the list

You even put some episodes that i didn't know where to rank in my personal list, such as in the case of Ripped Pants or Mid-Life Crustacean, and the obvious choices (so to speak) like Band Geeks, Chocolate with Nuts or the Krusty Krab Training Video had fair reasons to have their place on the list. And hell, i even agree that Squidward in Clarinetland is honestly underrated as it is. Much like the rest of your videos, this top 10 is so mellow and down to earth, it honestly felt like you were watching those episodes with the audience. It's understandable why you stopped watching the show for so long given how low it's gotten prior to the second movie, and i'm no one to convince you from doing otherwise despite how it improved upon the first post-movie era. Either way, this did not dissapoint, and i'm eagerly anticipating whatever comes next on the backlog! PS: i knew i wasn't the only one to get the connection to the Tell-tale Heart in Squeaky Boots!

Nice video. I think my top 10 would be different, though some of these episodes would be there. There wouldn't be as many season 1 episodes in mine, because I don't think the show truly hit its stride until season 2. I see season 1 as the foothills of the Himalayas - pretty high up, but greater peaks are on the horizon. And Band Geeks is a good episode, but I've always wondered, can the best SpongeBob episode be about Squidward? Squidward just might be my favorite character on the show, but even so. I also think the cast is too large. I prefer episodes that have fewer characters and let them each have enough screen time.

I don't know about Clarinet Land being the best in terms of Surreal imagery in SpongeBob. My pick for that would be the Season 4 episode Ghost Host. An episode both equally terrifying and hilarious! I'd probably also place the Season 4 episode in which Plankton sues M.r Krabs for neglecting to use a wet floor sign, and Spongebob has to fill in for Krabs's lawyer after he himself ironically for real injured himself via wet floor. There's plenty of Hidden Gems in Spongebob!
