After you mentioned Pearl, that gave me the best idea to combine the Mr. Krabs and Triton story. Have Mr. Krabs and Neptune talk of stories about Pearl and Triton, and how they loved them as kids but now they don't want to run the family business, and actually have Neptune realize that teens are just that... teens. They need to grow and change, and have him forgive Triton, even after he destroys the town and say that the best thing he can be is his son, and have Mr. Krabs have a little scene where he hugs Pearl or something, or have Pearl and Triton meet and THOSE two talk about their dads. There's a huge parallel between Pearl, Triton, Mr. Krabs, and Neptune, and the writers just missed it

Holy Hyppolite, this special is terrible, and a horrible way to cap off a horrible sixth season. At the very least Atlantis Squarepantis showed some potential that could've been done better and had better characters for the most part. Here, not only does it seem that the Clash---the tagline of the episode, doesn't even last a minute, but the story feels more disjointed, and the characters are written even worse. Leaving Spongebob's inconsistancy, and Triton's jerkiness, Neptune is a terrible father! He willingly denied his own son of benefitting mortals because they're below him, and is A-OK with his son causing chaos because he's successful? I know he isn't exactly a saint in his debut episode, but he was never this unlikable!!

I'll never forget the day this special aired where I begged my parents to let me watch it, the commercials made the special look so cool! So I got it recorded, sat down to watch and kid me waited and waited for the battle between SpongeBob and Triton and by the time the episode was over nothing I was hoping to see happened. If that isn't an indicator of SpongeBob losing its own target audience by blatantly lying to them I don't know what is. This was to me what Atlantis SquarePantis was to everyone else, and I thought that special was overheated.

To be honest, I've been a fan of yours since 2011, and I even genuinely liked all the SpongeBob reviews you did as MoBros, and still do, but that being said I can't get enough of your new approach and your more constructive take on post movie SpongeBob, and have personally gained even more respect for you nowadays than I did before. This is a pretty impressive review if you ask me, and it coming from MoBrosStudios himself. Even though this is my opinon, another thing that's disappointing is that the reason the conflict happened in the first place is because of Spongebob himself; like if he was a driving force that made the episode going. While I don't mind having the main character driven the plot on a certain standpoint, but having him annoyingly shove it in felt uncanny and forced. It even felt like the conflict later on would've avoided if Spongebob didn't brought Triton's name from the start, even though he was just trying to make Neptune feel better. The ending felt mean-sprinted, considering the "comeuppance" is what Neptune should been through for pressuring his son than the sponge who pretty much did him a favor.

The episode should have ended with Neptune realizing what is important in life and that he pressured Triton into going too far. It's not like he needs to be sad in the end; have him just have him hopeful that he can patch things up with his son and help him embrace his kind nature. That would be a nice birthday gift.

Just like most SpongeBob specials, this special was nothing more than a ratings trap. If this episode was named "Neptune's Party" like it was originally supposed to, and Nickelodeon didn't hype it like crazy, it wouldn't have been so bad. An online game was made to promote this episode back in 2010 which was actually decent unlike the special. When the game's better than the actual special, that's not something worth being proud of.

The only interesting thing about this episode are layouts and designs by robert ryan cory, who worked on the show from season 4 to season 9a. He did designs for the three servants to Neptune, spongebob's close up on the cage, and mr. Krabs's money mallet gag. Fitting he did alot since after this, he barely did anything else for the show, aside from designs for puffy fluffy in " a pal for gary" and the faces in "face freeze" which would be his last episode for the show

My main problem is that this entire special was just a big. Giant. LIE! They were making this sound like a big deal, Mortal vs God, A battle for the ages, like a cartoon version of battle of gods before it was even released. But in the end, all we got was a boring 30 minute long fetch quest to break triton out, get betrayed, and the conflict doesnt even last all that long! This would be like if in friendship is magic, they reveal that Luna had a daughter that was banished to rhe moon, she breaks out, kidnaps the princesses and mane six, and its up to the student six, Spike, Big mac, Garble, and a couple other secondary characters to face the daughter of Luna, but the climax is nothing but one of the characters playing with a freaking rubix cube to set everyone free!

I think if triton made the cure for everything like in the orginal special, but after neptune locked him up, he should of concocted a anti cure type of deal for the gods and give some to neptune, give him some bad disease (tho with his compromised immune system, the common cold should suffice), and spongebob is on a timer to save neptune (with the , I'm assuming, mother giving exposition), I think they should of basically somehow took triton down a similar route to Dr. Maruki from persona 5 royal

Ah this old blob of nothing. the only reason i ever remember it is memories of that flash game I played years ago. ~That beat-em-up you could beat in less then 30 minutes held up better to the initial premise than this thing did (that's not even a high bar). ~some of it's music also reminded me of Medievil on the ps1, so that's nice.

One coarse meal is underrated. The premise is retarded and the ending pisses any viewer off, but the story is consistent and made some sense. Krabs being a dick is sth anyone wld have gotten used to, plankton about to be squished by a bus isn't any form of "mental scarring" since everyone has seen him getting squished by Krabs all the time. It is over the top idiots like enter that sensationalise such a boring and annoying episode.
