This video features gameplay from Animal Crossing for GameCube. In this video, I earn 57,000 bells in about 8 minutes. How? In early September, there are no sea bass in the ocean. So if you fish in the ocean, there will only be red snappers (3,000 bells), barred knifejaws (5,000 bells), and if it's raining, coelacanths (15,000 bells). For best results, avoid the acre where the river flows into the ocean, since there will be river fish (which are less valuable) there.

EndiconRS: Just an update. The sea bass do start to return on the 14th, but it seems to be only a few. I still caught more valuable fish than sea bass today.

@ACxEVA: No, ACCF has more types of ocean fish, which prevents this from occurring. This only works on the GameCube version.

@TheCam444: You have to have a Game Boy Advance connected your GameCube with the appropriate link cable. The GBA also has to be turned on for Kapp'n to show up.

MarioMarioSMBZ: Yeah, sometimes you have to keep going from acre to acre looking for the right one. Some of them are rare and don't show up very often. Also, remember that many bugs only appear at certain times of the year or day.

CyrusBearFurshion5: City Folk has a recycle bin in the town hall. In the GameCube version, you can place your trash in the dump (which you can see at the 9:16 mark).

@AGgals: On City Folk? The recycling bin is in town hall, on the right-hand side. Discarded items can sometimes be found there, and you can leave your unwanted items there as well. It works just like the dump does on GameCube.

I hate how this feature is only in the GameCube version. In the newer games Wild World and up sea bass are around all day and night all year long. And they are all I catch...

@MrsCfw23: I never said the sea bass weren't around in winter. They're available year-round, except for mid-August to mid-September. Sea bass are definitely not rare.

oh btw, contrary to the description, i highly recommend fishing AT the estuary, because river fish dont really appear there, and that is where the barred knifejaws all seem to congregate! also large chars seem to LOVE the area under the waterfall so check there.

Well the original question was about the regular fishing rod, not the golden rod. I was just clarifying.

@GDarkGoombaG: I get mostly salmon at the estuary. And they're only worth 650 bells, opposed to the minimum 3,000 bells per fish at the other ocean acres. So if making quick bells is your goal, then it's best to avoid that acre.

@ClubPenguinVideosTV: It's not luck. This is what happens in the first half of September; there are no crappy fish in the ocean during this time (as long as you avoid the acre where the river empties into the ocean). And you get the gold fishing rod by catching every type of fish.

@djd12: If there is a change, it's not dramatic like in the ocean. There are still "cheap" fish in the rivers year-round.

Enfan89: I don't know yet, but I doubt it will work in City Folk. City Folk has more types of fish than the GameCube version, so it's unlikely that this will occur again.

cothey: No, you don't need Action Replay. As long as your GameCube clock is set to the right date, you can do this until mid-September.

klily73: Nookington's has an additional requirement besides spending a certain amount of money. You also need to make a second town on another memory card, and have a character from that town visit your first town and buy an item from Nook's.

pigpicks8: Every day there will be a glowing spot somewhere in town. Dig it up for some free money. For the rocks, each day there is one "money rock" (it turns red when you hit it with a shovel). Once you find the right one, keep hitting it repeatedly to get up to seven money bags.

tjdwodl91: What season is it in your game? There are a lot of bugs in summer, not many in winter. You should be able to find fish year-round though, so look for the shadows in the water.

yearofthe: Well that's not completely correct. In the GameCube version, there are no sea bass for the first week to week and a half of September. If you don't believe me, change the date on your GameCube and try it out. Those fish & insect guides may be very helpful, but they're not 100% accurate.

PATCHY12345: Fishing at this time of year is part of it. But also selling fossils, fruit, and furniture. And finding the glowing spot's money bag and the red rock's money bags help too. So basically all of that stuff over a few years of off-and-on gameplay adds up to millions of bells.
