I am so glad that you don't ignore the less visually dramatic adjustment that are important to that beautiful guy. Thank you for standing so high on your bale to adjust such a tall horse, knowing that a wrong move on either of your parts could really hurt you. You are putting a lot on the line to volunteer, I hope you don't mind that I pray for your health and safety and hope you will continue helping with your special skills.

@cynvision20 күн бұрын
It would be good to see Duniki again and see if he can move neck better. Wasn't it said once that a horse is calmer when freely able to move up, down and left right to see around them? I am thinking as stable horses with wall buckets they're not normally lowering to graze a whole lot so it's harder for them to nose the ground, but they should have that movement.

I love a nice thorough full body check-up. Dr. Doug knows best, but I am often like "but-but... wait... you did not check the thing... you could go for five-ten-sixty minutes more!" haha. Duniki did a little shake after the second shoulder adjustment. He really is Clifford the big red dog, isn't he? Needless to say, my regards to the rescuers, the filming/production team and of course Duniki asked me to say 'thank you Dr. Doug!'

This horse is so pretty. His fur just glistens. I like how he got an obvious release with each adjustment. Even some eye googles. I am not sure if that is a relaxation response too, but I know when I get an adjustment it sometimes feels like my eyes refocus better. It was cute when the dogs came down to check things out and check on the horse. I bet the barn is all aflutter when Dr. Doug comes.. They're probably all talking about how great they feel after he leaves.

Duniki seemed a but confused when you started working on him, but with each significant adjustment, you could see him get more relaxed. (The right cervical/shoulder shake, chew, and eye rolling into the back of his head really must have been a super sore spot). I had to laugh on the tail pull when you slid towards him. 😂😂 He must really be strong since he didn't take the step forward and you lost your footing. He is a gentle, sweet, giant - he will be perfect in his new career. I help out a charity that uses equine vaulting exercises to help disabled children. They have horses with a similar temper as Duniki who are wonderful with the kids. ❤

Interesting to see the difference in demeanor and general attitude of a horse who was not abused before coming to the rescue. I'm guessing that's where that complete calmness comes from, as well as his acceptance of this complete stranger doing weird things to him.... Duniki has no idea what's going on here, at least not initially, but it doesn't occur to him to be nervous. Why would he be? Humans don't cause pain in Duniki's world. It's nice to see.

HINT: QUIT pushing and shoving that horse! QUIT giving it sweet feed! just plain oats will do. and give me daily big doses of boron mineral, or plain borax in its mash, that will quell the arthritis promptly.
