You forgot something. As well as kamikaze attacks, each emu platoon would have one bird on stag (lookout). Upon seeing or hearing the armoured cars approaching, the lookout would give an alarm call, causing the entire platoon to scatter into the bush long before the soldiers came into firing range.

As an Australian, while I've obviously been educated on the great emu war, as all Australians are in primary school as part of their mandatory animal warfare education - I hadn't heard about the kamikaze faction of emus! The government has been covering this up, but why? Do they not want us to know the lengths emu's are willing to go to, to defend themselves? Are we being lulled into a false sense of complacency right before an emu uprising?

Im a west australian. If you drive the wheatbelt today you might be privileged to have a mob of emus run alongside your vehicle (but not on the road, to be clear). If you havent seen them do this you would probably be taken completely by surprise at how fast they can run and how long they can keep that speed up. It really is an amazing sight.

In 1932, a crack emu unit was sent to prison by a military court for consuming wheat they didn't own. These birds promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Melbourne underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as avians of fortune. If you have a wheat problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... the E-Team. The absurd amount of *_HATE_* that Aussie farming lobbyist have on our wildlife, for no reason, has always been there and has never gone away. It's kinda their fault that the tasmanian tiger is extinct, as well their trainings poisoning barrier reef runoffs, cane toads poisoning our waterways & many other eco disasters or bad practices to this day. As an ecology student, I like that the Emu war helps in spotlighting their incompetence, even if slightly. Cheers to the greatest single Dads in the animal kingdom! Australia has gone to war against several species of animals from emus to rabbits to mice. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but haven't the animals been victorious in each conflict? @kezia80278 күн бұрын
I just use auto-generated instead. They're more accurate than most pre-written subtitles in 99% of cases.
@quickmythril23988 күн бұрын
this is because they write the script first, then add in the subtitles based on that, but sometimes make last minute edits to the script and not the subtitles... it's annoying sometimes, but also gives insights on the decision making in production. for example in this video, they were going to call australians legendary, but for some reason decided against it.
