Thank you, just to add a note, the Time node will be grayed out for this, bc its an Instance. You need to switch the geometry type of the Mash network.

Thanks ,Emily . You have a great help on me. I had stuck at the process add mesh Light , when delete instance , it's no light at all. And when I group the InstancerObj. the light is show but not move. ---> I have found my answer already , the pCubeShapeInstancer is in Hide Mode , Unhide it . , no need to grouping Anyway, thank you.

Hi Emily, great tutorial, thanks! I am only wondering what is the philosophy behind baking the animation? The Mash Repro mesh has a shape node as well, with an Arnold tab where you can toggle between polymesh or mesh light. I think it is easier to switch to mesh light directly in the Repro mesh, then there is no need to bake the animation and everything remains procedural!

Thanks Emily for amazing video. The neural nets are pretty familiar me as well and you're video seemed maybe a bit too rapid but the outcome was amazing!! :) So I can duplicate these nets in Maya and add maybe a depth of field effected also so made it more real?

Special duplicate with a slight offset, that will create a torus shape like a DNA strand .

@@EmilyMcDougallArt nah I just asked if I requested this back then. Probably I did but your tutorial doesnt have anyhting to do with that- Also the process is super neat and kinda intuitive in Cinema 4d- Here is one of the tutorial- Cinema 4d has a neat feature where it can key animate gradients, and supporrts something like 3d gradient that guy used to sweep the light impulse on the tentacles kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKK2iKiHpM6kh6c

Wow thank you. I wonder how did u learn how to do this? is there a specific medical animation course or something
@EmilyMcDougallArt6 жыл бұрын
Hello! I am glad you liked my video. I studied MSc Medical Art s a more general medical art course where we had a small introduction to animation but it was mainly digital illustration and 3D modelling. I am pretty much self-taught in animation in Maya... I just try and problem solve my way through it and watch a lot of tutorials on youtube as well to learn any new skills. I wish there were more medical animation tutorials when I was trying to teach myself so I am trying my best to share what I am learning with others through these videos. There are other courses for medical illustration/animation, you can find links to these courses in the description of my friends video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqnLdahta7topNE

@TenFootCity6 жыл бұрын
So I've tried this 3 times and I get to the stage where you add the mesh light. It just doesnt work, on all cases, I have bumped the exposure to 20 and intensity to 5000 but still nothing. Not sure what I'm doing wrong? Current MAya version is up to date with the 2018 version too.
@davidbrna54316 жыл бұрын
I am having the same problem, any idea what should we do? By the way the tutorial is really amazing ))))
@TenFootCity6 жыл бұрын
Dávid Brna so I redid the tutorial for a 4th time but grouped everything (apart from the Instances) then it worked to a point. This was rushed with only 1 'tenticle' but worked. It was also done on a smaller scale so the glow was quite big, but this could be toned down by lowering the light meshlight intesity/exposure

hi you have nice ideas but bad way of teaching we don't need step by step we need to understand, a lot of keys didn't understand it, SORRY FOR MY BAD RUDE AND THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS

Moudi Pueyo there are plenty of tutorials on the basics of Maya that you should have a look at in KZbin. I’m looking to teach people step by step ways of creating some medical animation scenes in Maya. It’s best for people to have a basic knowledge of the tools used before trying to create specific scenes such as this one. I’ve had many positive comments on my tutorials so I won’t be changing how I create them but thank you for your feedback and I wish you all the best on your learning journey!

@AnnieCampbellMedical5 жыл бұрын
Moudi Pueyo You can find many channels on Maya for beginners on KZbin. A quick search will give you lots of results for you to explore and research on your own. Just because you do not understand certain aspects of this tutorial does not mean it's a bad way of teaching, these videos might be too advanced for you if you're unfamiliar with Maya.
