Well explained! Not medical common can also get the concept. Me being a non medical person came to this video because I’m a patient of an auto immune disease and getting treated for the symptoms. Got one heavy question for you. The question is, autoimmune system causes wide variety of diseases and people reach out to those specialists and get treated for the symptoms. For example a rheumatoid arthritis person reached out to an ortho and they work on suppressing immune system there by ILS. But that’s temporary. How can a person address the root cause? Which specialisation in medicine should they go for and what kind of treatment can they take?
@animatedbiologywitharpan3 жыл бұрын
It’s a very interesting question....there are two parts of this question 1) finding the root cause and 2) finding a solution. As our genetic makeup is different from individual to individual there is no common root cause. Diagnosis of the root cause is extremely difficult and costly. Mostly the treatment of autoimmune diseases is temporary suppression of immune system ( with a huge risk of other secondary infection). Long term solution is bone marrow transplant and CRISPR based gene therapy. Unfortunately gene therapy is not available in the market.

Sorry are the central and peripheral mechanisms of B cell tolerance the same then but just differ in their location?
@SMass-ey8er3 жыл бұрын
No thats not correct. Bone marrow "central": BcR develop Lymph nodes "peripheral": i.e Somatic hypermutation, B-cell maturation into plasma/ memory cell antibody class switching...
