I'm currently working on optimizing a suspension system. As a recent ME graduate who didn't take any classes related to vehicle engineering, I really appreciate the videos. Hope you keep producing them, best wishes!

One of the disadvantages of leaf springs not mentioned is what's called "inter leaf friction" meaning the individual leaves have to slide against each other when compressed. It has the effect of making the ride harsher but in the very earliest days of the automobile (before shock absorbers) it also provided something of a crude damping effect. Another disadvantage is the weight of the spring stack is un-sprung. Designers work to keep un-sprung weight to a minimum as it aggravates the tendency of the tires to bounce like a basketball when hitting bumps. The mono-leaf spring mentioned solves both of these issues.

How can we be sure you don't have an annoying voice ?
@DJHeroMasta10 ай бұрын
Initially it struck a nerve but I've heard worse AI voices that make listening almost impossible. It may help if you slightly muffle the audio (I'm using my phone atm) and have the speakers pointed into the mattress/pillow.

it is confusing around 12 mins where you mentioned Right cornering: the wheels to right of driver are called as Inner wheels and left one are outer wheels but you took them reverse as per my understanding. can you clarify it please.
@h7opolo Жыл бұрын
i agree, there should be a curved arrow. since the car is turning to the right, and the front of the vehicle is pictured on the distant end from the viewer, the wheel on the left is the outer one and the right wheel is the inner one.

Hi gyz I need a help on how to create this video using animation I don’t know where to start… which steps would I need to get start
@BigBadBalrog Жыл бұрын
Quick question about McPherson vs Double Wishbone. It looks like the negative camber change to the outside wheel when cornering is cited as a drawback of the McP, but a benefit of the unequal wishbone. Am I missing something? It looks like that's desirable in both cases. Otherwise, I can't believe how much I'm learning here.
@zakur09786 ай бұрын
on McPherson the car sits higher is one negative for sport car, but not for daily. McPherson from what the video says goes from 0 camper to negative that's good but after that to positive = less grip on Double Wishbone the car sits lower good for sport car, and the camper goes from 0 to negative = good for grip ________________________________ For daily car tho, you won't corner that hard in corners for the suspension to lean(close) that much i guess and the car sitting higher is positive for ground clearance just guessing

Hey there, just found your videos. Very cool to learn how things like suspension works. I have a little question. I am working on Lego cars with fast rc components. I also designed some things for that like steerign knuckle. Now i am working on some videos for the Lego community to get the knowledge to build fast cars like i did. Now the question. Can i use some of your animations to display several fuctions of the suspension?

Car suspensions are working in reference to the rapport of the masses of car and wheel = Masse of car Divided by mass of Wheel, this has to be as great as possible. And that's it.

Think that you have choosed bmw 5 series to get more be comfort but you in trouble! Even in a shock! Try with regular michelin tires. Then probably you pray of me.
