Sorry about the camera focus , I only realized when I was editing and didn't have time to re-record 🥲

I feel the pain. A couple years ago I was doing a podcast where I do audiobooks off the top of my head. It would typically take me about three hours to do a 30 minute episode. I remember one time I got a perfect take where I just felt in the zone. After I uploaded it I saw that I completely mangled a sentence without realizing it. One of the most important moments in the entire episode. Do I redo the whole thing or leave the mistake? I left the mistake and then beat myself up every time I listen to it. I don’t think anybody else noticed.

@@2teepeepictures382 that's the worst ! I've had quite a few similar experiences- even apart from this - where I either said something wrong or even times when it stopped recording completely and I had to re-record the whole video . I'm quite a perfectionist but with the amount of time these things take, as you know with your podcast, it's sometimes just not possible to fix it if it's a relatively small issue.

@@RobynO_O Yeah, I ended up having to stop that project because I couldn’t handle the stress of not being perfect. I wanted the feel of a story that was told rather than a book that is read but I wanted it to be perfect. I would have these long 15 minute takes with minimal editing. Some of them turned out pretty darn good. Some of them did not. I guess it’s the old parable of the person who built the tower but didn’t count the cost. Always count the cost before you start the project. Life isn’t an anime where you can dig deep and make everything work out. I feel like that is a lesson that animators who are doing it as a hobby need to take to heart. If you were doing this as a hobby then it is for your own edification at the end of the day. Overcommitting to ambitious projects does not edify you. Completing ambitious projects feels awesome though.

It's all good! It really isn't a big deal. The content of the video is what matters the most and the focus (or lack of it lol) Didn't get in the way at all.

I've found myself telling students this kind of stuff too. They're still learning, so they think there has to be 1 superior option. But the best option is the one that suits the moment.
@RobynO_O Жыл бұрын
Totally, I remember thinking the same way when I was a student too. I thought there had to be a superior one, I wanted things to be that simple. But things are rarely so cut-and-dry with animation!

FK and IK is a dumb system. They should have made one system so you can move them like toys with joints.

how do you move a model with IK handle on it normally sideways and up/down?
