Cover celebrity crashes and how auto rotations are totally survivable as long as the pilot keeps his head. Talk up the rivalry between good rotor head pilots and the plain stiff wingers. Actually, I remember that -for it's time- Beowulf was so advanced and the concept was so new, it did look quite convincing. Everyone I watched the movie with when it first came out started arguing over certain parts, on whether it's an actor or a CGI model. My dad had to watch the movie a second time to be convinced that they're not "real" people. Watched it YEARS later (after I graduated from CGI college, too), and yes it looks A BIT horrible now

I thought it looked A LOT horrible from the day it was made. The closer you try to make an animated character look real, the more it looks like a corpse. Like the sex dolls they have these days. Dead behind the eyes. Great if you're into necrophilia. Hand drawn animation is so much better than CGI simply because it succeeds at being is what it is - a cartoon - rather than a failed attempt to be what it isn't - live action. The more realistic the result, the creepier it looks. Maybe one day it will be completely indistinguishable from reality, at which point, why bother? Also, what tends to happen is you spend most of the film admiring the technique so that it completely takes you out of the story (Toy Story is a great example of this). This is also the case with all 3D movies. If, as a child, I had spent all of the Jungle Book admiring the drawing skills of the animators, the story and music would have lost their impact on me completely. The plot is seen as almost irrelevant these days. Special effects teams are too busy wanking each other off. CGI is massively overrated. My GF convinced me to take her to see Fantastic Beasts when it came out. On the way home we realised that neither of us could remember a single thing of what we had just seen.

I love this podcast, I let it run about 4 episodes, then I binge listen. Quick story, I went to go see 'Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within' in theaters, this goofy chic thay worked there gonna ask me "You play games, don't you" in a condescending manner, because back then it was frowned upon for growm men to play video games, amd I said "Yeah" proudly. Now every chic plays games and sexualizes it, good times.
