When I made the shadows for my glass painting and it dried but when I was putting on the skin or the paint on the top of the shadows, the paint below started moving with the brush and started slipping off. I believe it maybe due to the paint not sticking to the glass properly 😕

So another thing I found a while back is that the cheapo tube acrylic paints from the dollar tree actually work amazingly with this! It really bad for regular painting since it is plastic-y, shiny, and sheer though with glass painting it works really well :D since you generally gloop it on in think layers (maybe that’s just me though aha)

How do you prevent the paint from being bubbly? When I put the paint on the glass, some of it gets bubbly while other parts are smooth. I thought might be because of how I mix the colors.

It's because your paint might be too thin. Also keep a pin close by so when you see bubbles pop them with the pin so it doesn't dry with bubbles

Another banger of a video!! Quick question: for the Testors paints, those bottles are fairly small. Do you need to stock up on a lot to do a single painting or does a bottle of a certain color go the distance? Like the Sage Naruto you did used a lot of orange and yellows. Was that multiple bottle being used there? Thanks for the tips brother!!
@Theartofkirkabrigo
@Theartofkirkabrigo 4 жыл бұрын
The size is deceiving. The paints or very opaque, so you dont have to use as much when you lay it down. So not much layering needed. just one coat is all that you would need. Takes me awhile to go through a bottle. for the price it's totally more than worth it. It's good to stuck a few of each color for practical purposes. But not because they run out too fast. Also, Thank you for the kind words, Antonio.

Do Testors Enamel paints mix well, or do you need to buy a bottle for each separate color that you use? Have you tried using layers of enamel and then layers of acrylic for the background? Does that create problems?
@Theartofkirkabrigo
@Theartofkirkabrigo 3 жыл бұрын
Testors enamels mix very well. But you do have to mix them in a bottle. They don’t sell empty bottles so I usually just buy a few thinners and empty them into an empty glass bottle that I also bought just for that. Then use the small Testors bottles to mix the color I want to mix. There is nothing wrong with using acrylics and enamels on the same piece. They work very well together. JUST DONT MIX THE PAINTS. ( meaning don’t mix acrylic yellow with enamel red to get orange.) that would be a disaster waiting to happen.
@Theartofkirkabrigo
@Theartofkirkabrigo 3 жыл бұрын
One more thing. The Testors are inexpensive so I basically buy as many colors as I can. But when I have to mix I mix it as I previously mentioned.

Sorry to hear about your problem. But you may have hit the nail on the head. If you’re doing it in a cold environment that may be why. But it may also be because the paint is too thin. You may want to use a better quality paint or if you add water to your mixes don’t add water. Als keep a pin near you so after you put the paint down and you see bubbles just like them out before they dry. Let me know if any of these work.

It's not a dumb question at all. The typical thing to do is use glass from picture frames. This way you can put it back in the frame if you want to after the art is finished. But if you want just glass you should try looking for acrylic sheets to paint on. Look it up. But i you want the front loader frames like I use the link is in the info section below this video.

Not for Anime glass painting. Although I've never used them. I can really only recommend paint I know about.

Hi! I use the apple barrel brand paint and it works well as long as you are really careful when painting different colors on top of each other. Like say you finished the shadows and are about to add the base color, go along the edges of the shadows where the base layer will with a thin layer of the base color and wait for it to dry since if you put too much paint it will bleed even if the shadow layer is dry.

@@stormy51715 the bleeding happens because the apple barrel paint is not thick enough.

@@panthpatel2724 I've used artist loft acrylic paints. Not for glass art though. but i find they are not bad. So they should work. The identipens are good too.
