From what I understand, that part about him leaving her was a lie, and what he was really leaving was in fact his way of life where he killed other people, instead wanting to live a normal honest life with her. He went to inform this to the village chief, expecting the clan chief to be understanding of his decision to leave the business since it was better for his own daughter, but like any other assassination organization, the clan chief adhered to the rule of "the only way outta this is through death"

He literally stated that leaving the village is not allowed. And that those that betraied him had no choice which all aludes to exactly this. Killing for the clan until death. It really isn´t hard to read between the lines here

@@adityachakrabarti3164 nah I mean it was pretty obvious what happened lol, it is frustrating when people miss big plot points that are explained with only slightly unclear terms like this one was. Most people I've seen got that they showed the past of him leaving from two angles, his lies and the true version, but some people don't catch it, either bc they aren't paying attention or just somehow can't connect the dots. Whichever it may be, is still annoying

They did explain why he wanted to leave though, he wanted to leave with her to live a normal life together without having to kill. The Grandfather said sure just do this one last mission and you're both free to go but betrayed him.

Base on my own understanding. He told the leader that he wanted to leave the group and intend to live as a normal married couple. But before the leader could approve to his request he ask one last mission and after that he'll let them go But the mission was a trap,he was framed about the 20 soldiers that died,it wasn't him who killed those soldiers but the 3 ninja who Hid in the ceiling. Thus he was arrested and banish in thier country sent to other place to be executed ..well that's my own assumption base on episode 1 I don't read the mangga

Which is why I did chainsaw man and spy x family last season. But I can’t just do everything all at once. ​​​​@@blaedus5318well I liked the improvised ending a lot too (unlike most people), but it's true they should've animated the whole story instead. The story is the best ever alongside Berserk's. They should animate all of the Manga, it would make it the best anime ever. So I call Claymore the best anime ever even though they animated just about a third of the story, because it's the best story I have ever read or seen, including Sheakespeare, Dostoievski, R.R. Martin or whomever. I absolutely love it, it's gruesomely perfect. Just like Berserk's, the difference being Berserk's is not finished and the author sadly passed from COVID, the story will be continued by one of his mangaka fans. Not the same though.
