To anyone brave enough to decide to learn this piece, and happen not to have any teacher, here are my two cents advice so that you won't be eternally stuck. For Bar 30 to 36, or somewhere starting from 1:40 to 2:00, I highly recommend that you master the left hand part first before attempting to join both hands together. By 'master' I mean you can play it at full speed with the correct rhythm. For Bar 46, PLEASE, please, do not practice the sextuplets (6) by pressing each individual chords/notes inside slowly before gradually speeding up. You'll eventually hit a speed wall and find it impossible to play it at Animenz's speed. What I would recommend is that you practice them as triplets first, aka playing (F# A# F#) before moving to (F# A# E) rather than slowly pressing (F# A#) before (F#). Then, roll the chords. You'll find that it sounds pretty similar to how that sextuplets are being played at full speed. Now hold down (F# A#), release hold and immediately flick your wrist over to (F#). It should feel really similar to how you rolled the chords just now. There should also be minimal delay in between each steps. Flick your wrist back and hold down (F# A#) before flicking it back to (F#). Repeat once more and congrats, you just played one sextuplet! Now apply the same concept to the other sextuplets and you should be good to go. Otherwise, the rest of the piece is pretty straightforward. Good luck :)

It seems that your style has evolved once again with this transcription, the technique is much more subtle, and flows much better now compared to your old works. Same can be said for the musicality, it is much more lyrical, much more atmospheric, and simply much more emotional. The chord is also a breath of fresh air will Jazz improvisation throughout the transcription, making this a joy to listen to over and over again. TL;DR - This transcription is simply beautiful and imo one of the best transcriptions you've made in terms of lyrical flows and well placed technique. Great job Animenz, your arranging skill, which is already god-tier , is improving yet again with each new upload (It seems your music studies really help you ! :D) Can't wait for more~

this song made my heart melt. Sensei, can you do the "Release my Soul" one? It is also from Guilty Crown. That would be great. BTW you really inspire me. I want to be able to play like you someday :)

You're my favorite piano player (that's alive) and I'm glad that you came back to your channel and hope to see more of your uploads if time allows. Keep up the good work!

Honestly even though I cannot afford piano lessons (I don't have a job), I'm still going to learn piano just so I can play this and many other of your arrangements. This is purely just amazing.

Yeah well your dreams are done to death. If you want a Yuri on Ice!! piano cover so badly, go watch Theishter's half a dozen of them.
@lunastar77578 жыл бұрын
It may be the same song, but it doesn't matter, it's the different ways different musicians play it. I'd like to see Animenz awesome version and how he interprets it
@dynastystar55158 жыл бұрын
who said anything about it being yaoi*(yes, you spelled it incorrectly)? I just dislike it when people follow fads. I don't like the Yuri on Ice fad, I don't like the Mystic Messenger fad(whatever that is, some Otome game or something), I didn't like the Undertale fad. I even started tuning out covers for anime I actually have watched and like because it became too overdone to me. I'm also not "attacking" anybody. They have a right to their opinion, and I have a right to respond. I did not insult them or call them names or say their opinion is "shit" or anything, I just said that Yuri on Ice covers are too overdone. Out of the people who I am subscribed to, I could list about a half a dozen people who did a cover for the opening off the top of my head; It. gets. old.

I’ve been learning this piece for about a year (and maybe a half) now. I must admit, it is a challenging task, but not impossible. Don’t let those fast scales or large chords stop you; it is not a competition to master this piece exactly as it is written. You can (and should) make minor changes to the piece to your liking, so it is easier to accomplish (and still make it sound half as nice, but you can try the original when you have become better) No one’s arrangements are considered “perfect”, for different people have different tastes. I’m no professional pianist (only a Grade 6) but I have survived all five pages (except the last part that Animenz included), and I must thank persistent practice. Keep trying and never give up! Practice makes perfect, as they all say. ...but you can never be like Animenz as we are all unique. No two souls can be *exactly* at the same standard, like how you’ll never hit a rational number when you throw a dart at a real number line. There will always be these tiny gaps that can never be patched, but through perseverance, you *will* minimise those gaps and make yourself ever closer to being a better pianist. Also, thank you Animenz for giving me an inspiration to keep trying.

The music removed the salt on my tears. Lyrics and tune are perfectly matched. 100% inspired to learn.
