I've told you before but I'll took this opportunity to say it again in the comment, this might be a bit messy since I want to tell you everything I felt after listening to this video without filter. This is one of the most emotionally powerful arrangement you've done this year yet. In a way, this video is truly the culmination of your 2020 orchestral style, the most "story driven" arrangement you've made, as well as a brilliant call back to the important milestone of your arranging career. The soft beginning setting up the tone and the atmosphere beautifully, with the well thought out secondary melody on LH at 0:23, you already get the feeling that something is coming, the anticipation is there. In a way, it's a passage that say "I'm about to tell you a great story". And the first verse begin, soft yet powerful, almost not knowing where to go, similar to the beginning of a new journey (or in your case I think of your beginning of your arranging career) transition to 0:55, the beautiful RH ornament with heart-wrenching LH melody and chord all the way to the first chorus. This section in particularly stuck a chord with me, maybe it's the way everything of build up? maybe it's the great attention to detail? whatever the case, this part allows me a to vividly imagine your determination, the promise you make to yourself back then that you'll keep improving : to create a piano arrangement rival even that of classical piece. So you start running : the right hand melody decorated in sixth build on to the second verse at 2:08, the more powerful iteration of your story, the right hand ornament that present throughout the this part along with bass octave gives me the vibe of "the clock is ticking". You finally running, you're trying to greatest to reach the dreams you wish to achieve, no matter how much you have to struggle, no matter how many times you want to give up, you’ll get there no matter want. 2:54 : to say this flurry of notes represent the emotional storm might be an understatement. This section represent the wall and struggle, as well as a call back to your experience when you create your arrangement my Dearest, it was very nostalgic seeing that pattern. Maybe it’s your way of retrospection, a look back at your own progress after a long journey. The second chorus onward till 4:37 really represent your current style : The orchestral style that focus on melodic flow with ornament that serve as multiple voice to serve to music, with nice left hand-right hand flow and chord voicing to boot. In a way this you right now, your own style, what you can do: Your current Animenz's signature. And comes the final chorus at 4:47, the explosion of note, the “last encore” with 5:20 “final rush” RH, it’s as if now that you’ve come so far, you tell yourselves “let’s run once more! At least just one more time!” transition to the big climactic ending (reminds me of your Sayonara Memories ending). The happy ending that scream “I FINALLY DID IT” finally after a long trial and error, you’ve reach what seems to be one big chapter of your story. The end at 5:50 particular struck me, the way the music abruptly end with one finger remaining on the key, the last lingering feeling, the emotion of not wanting to let go. You held on to the piano key as if you don't want your dream to end,you want to experience your dream even for at least even a second longer. But no matter how hard you my try, in the end you have to let go, your hand has to lifted, the music has to be stopped. No matter how good it is “All good thing must come to an end” and you have to move on, to look toward an even better future ahead. Maybe I was thinking too much? I don’t know why this arrangement give me such a picture, is it because this arrangement brilliantly portrayed your journey so well? Is it because I’ve follow your story for such a long time that this “summary” hit me especially hard? But one thing I can say. This arrangement truly is a culmination of your journey, as well as one of the most emotionally powerful performance, especially to me who have been following through your footstep for 5 long years. Once again, you have given me so much inspiration to keep going, to keep growing, and to keep moving forward. Thank you so much for this emotional masterpiece my friend. As I’ve told you before, this arrangement of you gives me the feeling I haven’t experienced since your Key medley. Once again I got remind how music can be more than just “what sound goods” but it’s a communication, a story, and inspiration. Absolutely well done my friend, this might be your final Guilty Crown journey, but I really have to say you’ve done an outstanding job ending this chapter of your career. I can’t wait to see where you’ll be going. Your determination, your journey as a musician, your outstanding work and appreciation for music has a capacity to change someone’s live, at least you’ve already change my life and many anime pianist for the better :) I guess all I can say after this 800 words essay is : Congratulation for succeeding your goal and end your Guilty Crown journey in the most beautiful way possible, and thank you so much for your inspiration to everyone of us anime pianist for all this 10 years. If there is anyone that deserve to be called the pillar of Anime Piano, it is you Animenz : The pianist who try his hardest to create a high quality music and inspires, the person who never give up and never compromise... Thank you so much my friend :)

I find often that much of the emotional weight and meaning of a piece, especially a piano arrangement, is derived from the context of the original story. (not always, but often.) But still, as always, animenz's arrangements are one of the few exceptions. I've never watched guilty crown or heard this song, but everything makes sense, everything described in this essay perfectly articulates all the moments in an animenz arrangement that make it so great. Thanks for writing that.

What a marvelous addition to the godly Animenz Guilty Crown library. The soft entrance cadenza offers a pleasant departure (pun intended) from the bold, in-your-face style entrance of the original. What stood out immediately was the strong emphasis in the secondary voices and bass accompaniment. The bass sustained throughout, following the soft entrance. For the secondary voices, a little bit of the RH bell tones at 1:31 (first chorus RH), but much more in the RH starting at 2:08 and carrying throughout the first verse. I found this quite fitting and faithful to the original to maintain that same boisterous "bassy / electronic" vibe. Notable moments that made me go "woah" - The extra Fnat in the LH progression at 0:57, and again at 2:56. Added a very nice flavor. - The extra notes in melody at 3:26 (i didn't know the second chorus changed up the melody slightly. very cool) - The nuance of the RH bell tones at 3:49 - *The punch in the strong jazzy chords at **3:59* - 4:56 triplet rhythm in the melody - The entire final chorus A slow calm before the storm at 4:38, before easing into the unleashed final chorus, with arpeggios in full force. The grandiose E maj conclusion also felt very fitting as a close to this piece and a close to the Animenz Guilty Crown series. Thank you for enlightening us with your Everlasting Animenz Touch. See you next week!

@@Animenzzz Indeed, each of your Guilty Crown pieces has its own unique character, and it is wonderful to feel the different types of emotional energy invested into each one of them. The entire final chorus was a late, but probably most well deserving, addition to the list ;) It gets even better time I listen back through. At around 5:20, it just feels like you've let it all go and are having the time of your life for the rest of the piece.

@@PiousSlayer For that reason there is a dislike button. Following your reasoning, there should be only like button under every video because everyone can judge the content by the name of the upload and simply don't watch it or just don't leave the like after watching. The world doesn't work that way, the sooner you realize that the better. People just don't understand what are the like/dislike buttons for. Someone might have heard a better arrangement and this is his/her way of telling that it doesn't live up to his/her expectations. It's also a way for content creators to tell what things they have to improve and what kind of content their audience wants. It's a very useful tool since you can check if someone watched the whole thing before rating it, and what was the deciding factor of earning a like/dislike.

Hi, I'd just like to share a long essay about this piece. that I wrote for one of my classes. I didn't even get to talk about the coda because I already hit 1000 words when the amount that I was supposed to write was like 200 because I think this piece was so good: This piece is an arrangement of an anime tv show ending called Guilty Crown; the original piece would fall under J-Pop. People generally refer to these piano arrangements of these songs as “anime piano music.” This particular pianist is trained classically, and as such, he brings a lot of classical elements into his arrangements. For example, while the original song is structured much more closely a verse-chorus-bridge form like many pop songs, Animenz adds an soft introduction, and builds up to the excitement of the chorus rather than using the strategy of the original song to start off stronger, and, though it still builds up somewhat, it doesn’t feel as strong. The change he made that most helped this build up was taking the prominent ostinato in the upper register, which plays through most of the verses in the original, and removing it for the introduction; rather he starts with the main melody throughout the introduction, and just foreshadows the ostinato in his left hand. Animenz begins with a simple calm introduction that introduces 2 melodic lines used in the piece: the first melodic line, denoted melody A, is very static, either repeating the same note, or moving between two notes right next to each other for extended periods(the figure F# F# E F#, or the repetition of D C# for many beats). Melody B(0:54) has slightly more motion and range, and is a little more disjunct, but the focus of melody B is still the repeated notes, while the motion, perhaps counterintuitively, simply connects the repeated sections. The piece then moves into a slightly more “regal” section(1:18), while also changing from D major to B major, where the melody moves to the middle register, and we find the final melody, the melody of the chorus, melody C. The focus on the repetition is much greater here: most of the first half of the melody is repeated, while the second half of it has motion, but only to build up again to the repeated notes; that build up in the second half of melody C is made even stronger by the fact that the jumps stand out amongst the repeated notes. Animenz makes those 5 repeated notes at the beginning shine by having 0 accompaniment play during those 5 notes for the first repeat. Those repeated notes have been signaled to be the hook of the piece; the thing that our ears latch onto. Using the melodies he already introduced, he then builds up to the next verse, with more vigorous foreshadowing of the ostinato. The introduction is now done and the beginning of the original song starts at this point in this arrangement(2:07). He uses his famed(in the anime piano community) 3 hand technique in stylish fashion to start playing the prominent ostinato with his right hand. As this is still the build up, bass voice is simply 2 16th notes outlining each bass note, with melody A played in part by both hands. To build up to the chorus, Animenz uses the speed of the accompaniment by the left hand to increase the tension: first it’s just the sparse 16th notes, then he ramps it up to constant 16th notes with more full chords, and finally, the tremolo in his left hand essentially just hitting the listener with a barrage of sound(while also changing to melody B and playing it in octaves). Then the chorus with melody C begins(3:14), again changing keys to B major. Octaves in the right hand, with low bass notes also doubled by the octave, with additional harmony being played extremely quickly, and with a more spread out voicing. He repeats melody C twice, and, of note is the fact that, on the second run, he accented the repeated notes at the beginning by adding...more repeated notes at a fast speed; adding intrigue and variation while still keeping to the original character of the melody. While this is the first climax of the piece it doesn’t just sound exciting, but a little somber as well, due to the fact that the motion in the melody line is mostly descending. He then transitions the piece into a soft section with melody A(3:49), reminding the listener of the beginning. He adds some chords above the melody to keep some of the motion from the chorus, even if it isn’t much. Then, he starts to quickly build up to the chorus again, skipping melody B this time, and after the build up, melody C is not repeated with energy, but with the same calm sense that melody A was played with. He then brings the energy of the piece way down, to almost 0. Then, with a crescendoing octave tremolo in the bass, he quickly starts up melody C again to start the final repetition of the chorus. One thing to note about this entrance is that, while the melody for the climactic moment starts, the left hand with its arpeggiated figure is delayed, again bringing out the repeated notes for a final time. The first repetition of melody C in this ending is the same as previously(with an added triplet figure in the melody), but the second time, Animenz adds beautiful arpeggios in the right hand permeating through the entire melody. After this is the coda, a completely new melody that wasn’t anywhere else in the piece. In the original song, this was the singer essentially just freestyle singing at the end. This entire coda is just the best part of the piece, and to keep this post from getting any longer than it already is, I will stop my super needlessly in-depth analysis here. I love this piece because it is such a good example of music that takes you on a trip. The anime piano community is relatively small, but it’s gems like these that make me keep listening; you can feel the 20 years of dedication to the piano that he has put into both this piece and its performance. For anyone that has read this entire thing, thank you. I honestly couldn’t stop myself from writing in-depth about this piece because it’s just such a good piece of music, and anything less just feels like a disservice to the piece. Thanks for reading!

And of course the masterpiece; My Dearest (personal favorite), two times. Like, when I watched the anime I didn't really appreciate the OSTs or the OPs and EDs much, that didn't last long once I listened to Animenz's covers. To all those who are alive and hearing my song- The truth lies within your heart Because even when I go through the stormy sea It gives me a strength that will never be daunted However, the wind is as strong as your progress The light of hope will blow out before long “Give me light!” As they feud over it People kill one another in the end Their tears long since dried So please realize That your eyes are for recognizing you and me That your voice is for conveying your feelings That your hands are for joining with the people important to you To the orphans all over the world who are hearing my song- Hope lies within your heart Because even when I’m in the midst of roaring flames It gives me a strength that will never be wounded Was what you tried to protect with your hands someone who you loved? Staring at your hands awash in red You finally recognize your sins and the stupid things you’ve done as mistakes And you learn that your tears are ever-spilling To all those who are alive and hearing my song- The truth lies within your heart The stormy sea has calmed down Even if I can’t count the number of things I’ve lost To the orphans all over the world who are hearing my song- Hope lies within your heart Because when you go through the nights of sorrow You definitely have the strength to live

Simply superb. Over the years I listened to your piano, nothing has ever touched me to the extent of this (and your 2020 rendition of My Dearest). Guilty Crown's soundtracks were irreplaceable to me as they accompanied me during the most difficult part in my life, as I said in the comments on your My Dearest video. And I'm happy to hear that someone else cherishes their music in a similar way as I am. What an appropriate ending for the journey. Keep making amazing music man!

your renditions of guilty crown's OSTs are what made me subscribed. its nostalgic in a way. having some flashback towards "that" hare scene and that last episode can't believe guilty crown came out 9 years ago. it may be full of flaws (especially after the halfway mark of the series) but godamn, if it isn't one of the most impactful and memorable anime i have ever watched. and the fact that the OSTs are made by the legendary supercell and composed by ryo. was just the icing on this perfect void cake.

Fantastic arrangement with all those complex 3 hand techniques along with the background music of the original piece and lovely detail at 5:54 too, having one of your hands pulled up by the other representing Shu and Inori's relationship 💛💛💛

Your right hand at the ending was like a hand-leaving with Guilty Crown's soul, you didn't want to leave her, but with the left hand you did it, it was like... goodbye, and thanks... for everything.

Suddenly, I loved music since I was young. No matter what it was, I was so happy that the emotions and emotions it touched touched my heart. However, as a 19-year-old, after I was mentally exhausted, I wanted to listen to any more music or hated emotional upheaval. I have lived here and there like a ship that lost its purpose without being listened to and listened carefully. However, after a long time, I just said,'You have to spend time watching a funny video on KZbin.' I was thinking of playing KZbin randomly and accidentally listened to your performance. After that day, I had never closed my eyes or tasted or touched music. But today I listened lightly and closed my eyes. It was really a nostalgic feeling, and the feeling of being moved was slightly pushed. I don't think people will change at once. But in the future, I wanted to live a different way. Thank you. I was impressed by the emotions from your performance.

Just wanted to give you another like after I finished reading the description. Thanks for everything you have arranged. I think these weekly arrangements really let us feel nostalgic, but it's so much more than that: passion, joy are only the feelings I can name at the moment. It's been years now since I first discovered you and I still am impressed everytime you manage to give these great songs another great facet, which basically happens all the time. The point is, it is awesome what you do and I really enjoy watching your style and passion prosper.

Animenz, thank you so, SO much for arranging all those Guilty Crown songs over the course of the last decade! The Guilty Crown soundtrack has always been one of my all time favourites and hearing it arranged by you greatly influenced and inspired me as a pianist myself. I was lucky to see you live in Munich a few years ago and I hope too see you again in the future :)

Have been following you for a while now and I´m pretty sure I wrote a similar comment below your GC my Dearest. And let me tell you I am not by any means a dedicated piano player myself so I can´t speak on a technical level, but I can tell enough about the difficulty and amount of practise/experience is needed to be this good at it. I admire your dedication and I think your work is awesome. Don´t let anyone tell you what you have created is anything less than amazing. Your arrangements are probably the most elaborate piano anime (and tbh other things too) arrangements I know of. It always feels like your arrangements are between presenting the song on a single piano as if it´s a whole orchestra playing and adding new vibrant elements in places where you wouldn´t think a human hand is capable of moving in that time. You take the song and not only adapt it to the piano but enhance it to a whole other level as a piano arrangement. I read about your struggles and that is why I and many other comments(*cough* CSM Piano would be one of them) can´t stop telling you: You can be confident and proud. Your journey over all those years was worth it! Greetings from South-Germany(Bw)!
