Just a heads up, for win 112 you said he stayed there and buried them, but according to Souei in S1, there wasn't a single corpse left behind after the Orc Invasion. More likely, he just made gravestones for everyone including his team that died in the first few minutes of the movie. Still very respectable.

Yeah, it's prefe tly reasonable for anyone to assume that he buried them, but that arc in season 1 was VERY clear about what happened with the dead around that Orc army. It would have been wrong af if there had been any bodies.

Also possible that Souei, Benimaru, et al didn't see any bodies because they were away and returned to the village after Hiiro buried them, and didn't know to even look for a graveyard outside the village. It's been a while since I saw the movie, but I seem to recall that being the impression I got.

@@JakkFrost1 That's definitely not the case as it's made very clear in the anime that the orcs ate everything and everyone they killed. we literally see them eat a lizard man alive. think they others were right and it was a symbolic thing

Others can name individuals, the Majin that stirred up trouble during the Orc invasion arc is another who has. They was naming creatures with the intention of those named creatures getting eating by the Orc king to help him become a daemon king. The problem with naming creatures is it takes considerable amounts of magicules to do it, so most who try run out of magicules and start converting life energy to do it. Rimuru got a way with it because he was named by Veldora boosting his magicules count and by having Veldora in his slime stomach Great Sage would draw from Veldora's near infinite pool when Rimuru's would come up short.

Slight correction, but Gelmud originally named the various Monsters in the forest in the hopes that one of them would eventually rise above the rest to become a Demon Lord. This was actually a long-term plan expected to take around 300 years. But then Gelmud completely changed the plan once he noticed that an Orc Lord had been born.

Oddly enough, I think my Favorite thing about this movie is Hiiro's weapon, the Nagamaki. It's a historical Japanese weapon that I've never actually seen in an anime before, and I loved seeing the unique weapon animated. And, of course, getting to see another Primordial Demon in Viola was pretty cool, too. Can't wait to see her, Blanc, and Jaune in season 3. Or, at least... We Should be seeing them...

I want to add another win during the fight between Hiiro and Geld, mostly when Geld learned that Hiiro was a named ogre. Once he did, he stopped fighting, dropped his weapons and waited for death to come. Reminds me of when Geld did the same thing with our slime lord's ogre friends as he knows the sins he's committed, and is willing to take any punishment for the sake of his people, even death Oh, and reminder that he got Beezlbub from Devour/predator, which he got by saying he was going to be a pervert in his next life as he's bleeding out on a sidewalk

Yup started as Predator, then merged with Starved from the Orc Lord to become Gluttony, then Gluttony was forcibly evolved into Beelzebub by Raphael during the Harvest Festival by "sacrificing" Merciless, really merging it into Beelzebub.

As novel reader I was initially really sceptical when I heard they were making a movie and it was gonna be original material instead of simply using the next LN volume for it but I have to say for an original story they did a really good job integrating it really well into the canon story and it was overall a fun watch.

I sorta felt the same way, though I would honestly be hyped no matter what for more Slime Isekai. I even heard online that the movie was highly "meh." I loved it. Such amazing action, Hiiro was a delight to foot for, Towa was stunning in beauty and character, meeting Violet already was a treat, the Tesura sound effects and OST bring the fire as always, and the additional worlsvuilding, character cast, foreshadowing, and lore filling were all amazing.

@@Zinz778I believe Fuse has stated that it is canon, it doesn’t effect the story in any way so there isn’t a need to see it but there also is no reason to not make it canon. If anything this movie just expands the lore and tells us a bit of what violet was doing before she was introduced in the LN, we knew she was doing things similar to this but we never actually explore this in the LN for the most part.

I saw this in theater and OMG it was amazing. The animation in full screen was amazing. I really like how they wove new original content with the official so organically as well as the worldbuilding. When Diablo mentioned he had an idea of who was behind it and then immediately called her Violet, my jaw dropped because that meant she was one of the 7 Primordial Demons and I think the anime has only really introduced Red and Black while I think Blue and Green made a kind of cameo in Red's castle if memory serves.

Always nice to see a Slime video! This movie was honestly really enjoyable, but by far my favourite moment was when Violet was introduced, the dynamic between her and Diablo was amazing! The only downside for me was the ending, but the positives for me easily outweigh the negatives. Cannot wait for Season 3!

I know many didnt like it but I personally loved the double fake out death, that scene had amazing animation, music, sound design and voice acting all working together to make the most impact. Even tho I knew what would happen even before watching the movie it still made me tear up. Towa's VA has such a soothing voice that it would be crime to kill her character, Hiiro's VA also did an amazing job especially during emotinal scenes. Even with those 2 great additions Violets VA Tomita Miyu stole the movie for me, I just love her voice so damn much. All in all a pretty enjoyable movie that gives us some content while waiting for season 3(announced for Spring 2024). Its amazing to see such a quality project being done in 1 year time and it gives me great expectations for Season 3 quality!

Legit excited to see another fan :D I shout it out in more detail in Love Is War, (the movie, not released yet but hopefully up next in 2 weeks time). I've absolutely fallen in love with the series after stumbling across it when Steam recommended Azure to me. I looked into it, decided to start with Trails in the Sky 1 and haven't looked back since. Now a few weeks later I've finished 4 games and am probably well over halfway through Azure, (which is INCREDIBLE btw) and legit cannot wait to begin Cold Steel 1. The biggest shock for me is loving and consuming RPGs for 25 years and never coming across this series! Really glad you're out here supporting the series too, Falcom deserves a lot of love and sales!

Regarding the naming thing, there have been other named monsters (Gabiru, Geld the 1st) but I can only think of 1 instance (Geld the first) where we have actually seen the character getting named and it not be Rimuru doing the naming. Gelmude (weird plague mask majiin from the orc disaster arc) named both Gabiru and Geld and during Geld's flashback when showing Rimuru his past during his death scene is I think the only time we see a naming. I think the reason for the lack of names is a mixture of magicule cost (very high so very few names are given, Rimuru has enough magicules and fast enough regen to not care) and very few people want to actually name monsters.

I personally found the double death fake out to be ridiculous. I definitely understand and can appreciate how they gave actual reasons how they’d be revived, but it can also look like they can’t commit to deaths. We had already seen the main character being back a ton of people, so to see even more revival stuff in this movie just made me depreciate death scenes in this series in general.

I think that was to show how powerful primordials are. That people can confuse them with gods. Even Rimiru doesn't yet know what Diablo is or even Guy. I do agree though that death is becoming pointless...but that is also because the good guys and bad guys are so powerful. That death is more of an inconvenience.

Something that was not really explain in the anime but is functional and implicit is the naming is stronger if the person that gives it to the is strong and you gain a bond to that naming person. Second thing that is not explained is that they get jobs too, like mayor, soldier, general and so on. All of that build monster skill list.

Considering this is technically filler and never happened in the light novel its a pretty seamless blend of LN Canon and Anime Canon i have seen so far. Hope it will take this into accounts for the seasons to come here. I am quite far ahead of the story and that little Map thingy in the beginning where he's sent Diablo and Youm into Falmuth is soooo perfectly placed. When I first saw this in theaters I left the movie just thinking what is the point of this film existence. My favourite part of the ending is that there is NO DEUS EX MACHINA. Hiiro dies, Towa uses her existing wish granting tiara to solve it, with her life as recompense. Diablo, because he interfered with Violet and she knew what was going on, she actively chose not to take, or more accurately RETURN the girl to life where she probably should have become her vessel. However, the game she set up was ruined by her lackey so it would have been boring.
