As season 2 of Re: Zero begins, so does a new cut content series covering what was skipped from the novels. This was probably my favorite cut content episode to make because it covers a small piece of Rem's What IF story. A glimpse into the life of who would've been Rem Natsuki. The scene that i'm the most sad about being cut is the last thought of Rem, it gives her so much more depth, showing a bit of her selfishness and deepening the reasoning for her obsession with giving her life for Subaru through the timelines. The Wilhelm scene is very important too but it can be added later when it will be relevant.

As someone who read the Novels I can't wait to see this season in anime form. I know a bit is going to be cut... well probably a lot but hopefully it's minor conversations like what they did for this first episode. Just knowing what's coming though..... Subaru will suffer far worse in this 4th Arc then in Arcs 1, 2, and 3 combined.

I read the arc 4. I don't think he suffers as much as in arcs 1-3. SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!! In arc 4 he dies 6 times, he stabbed himself in the throat, gets sliced by Elsa, gets eaten by the Sizable Hare 3 times and killed himself with Petra's handkerchief imbued with Echidna's power. I think his deaths in arc 1-3 are much worse. He gets sliced by Elsa twice, he got stabbed by thugs, a curse killed him once, Rem twice, he jumps off a cliff, Julius decapitates him, and he gets frozen to death by Puck 3 times. All while becoming insane for an episode. I know that he worked his ass off for achieving victory over his and Roswaal's contract, while forming a spiritualist contract with Beatrice, which was also a pain, and fighting off Elsa and Meilee in the burning mansion, but I still stand to my point that he suffered more in arcs 1-3.

Spoiler ahead: That carriage scene between Emilia and Subaru is so much more cringey when you realize that in the ln/web novel that Rem basically suggested that Subaru go into a poly relationship and offered to broach emilia about it but subaru said he should be the one to bring it up. By the way guys, in the thumbnail, is that guy with dark long hair actually Subaru? Because if that is him, he looks so freaking cool. I think that Subaru should get stronger(eventually) in the anime, and rock that awesome long hairstyle while he’s at it. I never thought Subaru would have such a badass look. If you notice, his face and realistic expressions in the anime always looked naturally disfiguring, especially when he went insane and suffered the deepest despairs. I look at it this way: I don't care which one Subaru ends up being with because I like both Emilia and Rem a lot (and I hope he ends up with someone at least because he deserves happiness). I just want them all to still be close friends with each other. Whether he's married to Emilia and best friends with Rem or married to Rem and best friends to Emilia, either way I'd be happy.

God, those shots. REALLY makes me think that Subaru IS the "Dragon" and Emilia IS the Witch, both EATING the other Witches. Which is why he showed up AND why (I swear) its her grasping at his heart, because of his vow he took, where I don't think its reset time like mentioned but this IS the 3rd Trial for them, where she HAS to believe that Subaru can make it with no memory through the trial and the grasp on his heart.... Is ACTUALLY her and its her heart as a sacrifice, why puck instantly trusts Subaru and why when he specifically told Emilia, she instantly died. I mean this has GOT to be the deal they're making with the Dragon, to TURN Subaru into a host FOR The dragon as Emilia's shield AND the sickness that killed the bloodline was in fact her (for another theory).

Rem is the truest meaning of love. Sad, painful yet so beautiful that it makes all the bad seem acceptable. There really is no other words for what Rem exemplifies. It's extremely painful to see those feelings go unrequited. And even though Rem knows this will never happen, she does not get jealous or negative and instead let's that feeling grow anyway. Despite the terrible feelings that come with it. Rem is the person we all wish we could be.

For me, this story reminds me a LOT of the arc called Spider-man: one more day, as well as "renew your vows". I say this because it's the what if of a character making a HUGE change in decision as they are drawn between 2 loves(not necessarily romantic loves) and picking 1 means they lose the life they could've had. Subaru chooses to not give up and there for loses Rem and his kids he might've had with her. The same as when Peter traded his and Mjs marriage to mephisto to save aunt may from dying. He lost the potential that he and his wife wouldve had Annie. However, in Renew your vows, we see where Peter chose a different route, and now has a daughter, just like this story🔥 Rem to me is reminiscent of Gwen Stacy while Emelia might be MJ.

Just the Sloth Route. The others are completely different. In the Pride Route he joins the Witch Cult, in the Wrath Route he never jumps from the cliff to save Rem back at the mansion because he was taken over by Wrath about her killing him so instead he ran away, he then made up an evil Organisation and recruited people from different countries, with his Organisation he killed over 100.000 people, he is mentally messed up here just like in the Pride Route. In the Greed Route it shows what would have happened if he made a different choice for something that will happen in Season 2, there he literally has to wake up early and try to make up a smile and look normal, it is just sad for all the characters in the Greed Route. Gluttony Route is just too Dark and you need to have read way further to understand it. Lust Route was deleted.

the main route is the route where he always chose the right choice and doesn't get his mental state broken, The main route (envy route) is the Subaru whom he cares about all of his friends and wanted to protect them. While the other route like pride route whom Subaru is a sin archbishop of pride dies at least about 100000+ times, fighting powerful enemies: -Betelgeuse (400 death to kill) -Regulus (10000 death to kill) -Reinhard (100000 death didn't even kill him) and he sees likes ally more as a peasant and tool. In this timeline, he kills Julius, team up with Elsa, and manipulated Felix's mind The Wrath route, which happens if Subaru refuses to jump off the cliff to reset but instead he fought against ram with Beatrice. in this route Subaru becomes the purge king, he is responsible for killing about 150000+, in this route he kills Roswalls, Beatrice. There are other routes where I have yet to read like Greed route (the route where he accepts a contract with Echidna), Gluttony route, and sloth route (the route where he escapes with Rem and married Rem) In all of this route, Subaru only has the return by death, is just that in every single route he uses the power in a different way.

Crusch's arm does get cut off in the manga and light novel. Felix is just that good of a healer. *SPOILERS* for the side story featuring Crusch and Felix's past. He was able to bring his mother back to life using a grimoire passed down his family to bring people back to life. I can't exactly remember if it was a perfect spell that brought them back perfectly normal or if he wasn't good enough, but his mother killed his father who was the one who killed her in the first place. No one else known at the time could have resurrected people using the grimoire better than Felix. Correct me if I got anything wrong those who read the story and remember it better.

Anime only here, one thing that always bothered me about Wilhelm was that his wife, Theresea died fighting the white whale. That doesnt seem weird on itself, but everyone else that died against the whale in the past, was completely deleted from the world, in the timeline where Emilia died in Subaru's arms as he tried to tell her about return by death, the timeline where Rem died against the whale, a lot of people were killed by the whale, and Otto, who was Subaru's driver at that point, didnt remember any of them. This isnt like what happened with Rem, or what exactly is the white whale, there was enough information on season 1 to figure it out, the whale being an attack dog for the archbishop of Gluttony and the archbishop of Glutonny being the one that attacked Rem offscreen. What the hell is going on with Theresea, she clearly wasnt killed by the whale like everyone seems to believe.

They seem to be moving in the direction that it wasn't just the white whale that defeated her. Considering how powerful just 1 Archbishop was and Suburu only beat him because of the ability to see his unseen hands. Gluttony is probably the one who beat her in the end. No idea though. Remember that it is implied from the events that it may not even be the white whale deleting people. Gluttony might just be rummaging through the survivors after attacks happen.

Those are guesses by characters who know literally nothing. Everyone is just assuming that is what is happening but it may not be what is happening. Which happens a lot with this story because the side of justice doesn't really understand the abilities of the side of chaos in this story. In this case they are assuming the mist is important to the ability at all, but in literally the first episode of S2 we find that it isn't. There are other ways to pull the ability off if the mist was even a reason to begin with. Also happens in anime in general. It's probably the biggest difficulty spike in watching anime because no matter the TV you watched before anime it is less skilled in their writing. A lot of the stories just flat out give you all of the answers, but in anime you can see the whole thing and not even understand the answers it gave you. These are also the most advanced writing techniques imaginable so most people don't even understand they are a thing. So don't take every answer they give as the truth because it isn't always the case unless the person who is using an ability is explaining it to you themselves. Even then they may leave parts of their abilities out because they are still trying to win. Technically the show told us nothing about gluttony or greed yet, but we found the true origin to the power as it was revealed to be the white whale last season. Which was a lie using the same technique. The good guys don't actually know who the leaders of the bad guys actually are.

After. The scene where he asks about Rem always takes place after Greed and Gluttony Archbishops have taken her out. Emilia's carriage wasn't anywhere near the carriages that Crush and Rem and the soldiers. Remember they started heading back as soon as Subaru left to take on Betelgeuse, so they are way ahead and as such it would've taken hours if the archbishops had wanted to wait for Emilia's carriage.

i always thought it was strange they could remember the previous sword saint, after she lost to the whale , i might be too generic , but isnt everybody she defeats erased ? only people that saw it and ran away could live to tell her existence. season 2 is having a great amount of mind blows, episode 2 had some for me. I believe of of the biggest plot twist is near the end of the story , subaru will have a full reset , send back to the appa guy and have to do everything right from the very start without making a single mistake , no more hindsight power . Despise what the anime tried to show, it wasnt the same route , it was slight different each time.
