I can’t even do my daily things in life. Such as walking my dog , taking a walk, go to the gym etc. I can’t stop thinking about it.My whole life turned upside down. I hope atleast my ankle heals so I can be able to do normal things like going to work. My football dreams are over. I’ve told the doctors about this they seem to not take me serious. Avoid ankle fusion guys surgeons seem to love doing them as opposed to an ankle replacement, probably because it's much simpler for liability reasons. Unless your 80 or 90 go for a replacement or just get an arthroscopic cleanout, debridement/bone spur removal in your joint. If it is a healthy ankle overall

So I had pain in dorsiflexion of my ankle for a few years now. The surgeon described it as footballers ankle. Today I Just had an arthroscopy and debridement of a bony spur on my ankle. They gave me a boot to wear and crutches, whilst the painkillers have helped so far too. Will update with progress but I’m optimistic, surgeon said it would be about 3-4 weeks before I could start light exercise and about 3-4 months until I was back to 100%

@@ajaxaridas1167 yeah all good now thanks. I was off the crutches and the boot after 2 days. Had a limp for about 7-10 days but once I could take the bandages off I was able to put more weight on it each day. It was a much faster recovery than I expected so I was really happy. It probably took 4-5 months for the residual pain to go (i could still feel pain if i pressed on the ankle where the scars were as there was still residual inflammation which the surgeon said was expected) but had no pain moving and running after about 6 weeks I would say. Definitely worked for me as I don’t have pain anymore, though the flexibility of that ankle is not as good as the other ankle but that’s fine to live with :)

Dude I rolled my ankle over 15 times skating over the past 7 years. Shit sucks my foot is always weak as fuck. It's so prone to rolling.

Fotes & oats I can’t skate in the first place due to several ankle breaks, sprains and other injuries. I am unable to wear skates because my ankles just turn in more and more until I fall or they get damaged. :(

I was doing a tail drop off a picnic table and when I landed it hurt like hell. I thought I just sprained it but about 2 weeks later I was doing an Ollie of a two stair and I felt a strong pain in the same spot in the front of my ankle. Shits been happening over and over again for about a year and I think I do have the injury from the video.

El P i had my surgery last november and it was about a 4-6 month recovery for me. Closer to 4. Mind you i am 15 so recovery time is likely to be longer if youre older.

Esaiah G by recovery do you mean you kept your foot immobile. and you wore a protective cast for 4 months ? I'm doing it too next summer 😭

N.M. Omar it was one of those plastic boots for about 3-4 months so yeah. Dont make the mistake of trying to walk on it to early as i did. Let it heal 💯

I am a chipmunk who is suffering from a swollen ankle. Perhaps I should have my veterinarian look at my swollen ankle.
