@@NVRAMboi There is a good reason why Grohl is one of the most beloved musicians with regular people and top pro's. The guy is not an asshole as far as I can tell, and has everyone's interests at heart. What the hell, the band delays South American tour so they can appear on Dave's last shows?

No ego. Dave learned in Nirvana he didn't have to pull lead to make music, or maybe that was already who he was. At the Beatle's 50th he looked like a child at Christmas. May we all be granted that perspective in our moments of triumph.

@fundies2
@fundies2 3 жыл бұрын
@Tessmage Tessera I was actually going to say the same about Chrissie Hynde as that IS true. However she never sang with the range Ann sang. Not by a long shot. Her voice didn't change much because her singing style was not difficult. Her strength was that she had a style all her own. No one sounded like her. As for Benatar, she's still good but she has lost some of the strength in her voice as well as range. There are many videos here on KZbin from around the year 2000 on up that shows that she lost a some of what I mentioned. But she is still really good (one of my faves actually). Just not in Ann's league as far as retaining the near same voice from her 20s into her late 50s/60. So no, Benatar does not sound exactly the same as in her heyday.

My God ..... The very first note hits you in the face like a sledgehammer. Holy crap - a very special moment that always makes me laugh since this is just too good ..! The respect that Dave and the Foos show these legends of rock is really great and certainly due. The band captures "hop" in this groove perfectly. The little anticipation at the beginning of the guitar solo is the perfect example - not to mention that he nailed the solo from the original recording. (some solos just have to be played the way they were written..!) Everyone kicks complete ass on this - so much fun to watch.

Before there was Amy Lee there was Ann Wilson. PIPES! I've lived in Seattle since 1978. I saw ALL the greats, including these guys many times. NO disappointments. And Nancy is the real deal on guitar.

My youngest daughter is 29. In the past 12 years she has been to dozens of concerts, mostly electronic and bluegrass. She had the opportunity to see the Sisters in concert at Red Rocks. She said, hands down best concert, best sound, she had ever seen. It’s still her number 1 today. Great Rock will never die. It may hide out a while but will come to the front when we need it.

What a gent Dave Grohl is, not trying to hog the limelight...and letting Ann and Nancy Wilson be the focus of attention. Indeed, drummer Taylor Hawkins is about the only Foo Fighter to vie for camera time with his animated and delightful facial expressions.
