Yep Jim, I will most likely be making some. I'm changing the drive setup to be driven by a timing belt with one motor to cure any timing issues with using 2

I'd be interested in a unit myself.

I’m doing the same. I never understood why two motors, two speed controls and two readouts. They both need one revolution to anneal one piece of brass.

So simple and yet efficient. Put me on the list to purchase👍

Hi, Could you please tell me were you got your parts ( Motors, Power Suppl and Speed Controllers ) I would also like to build my own. The price some company's are asking is ludicrous.

Have you thought producing any for sale?

That's a great build! Where did you get your parts? I'm looking to make my own too.

Love your advancement of the cake pan design. Can you give us a peek behind the curtain to see the guts of this sweet machine?

Martin Tardif Just 2 $12 ebay motors at the moment, V4 will be along shortly and address some of the issues with this design.

Wombat, I'd still be interested in buying one if you decide to produce for sale.

that is a pretty awesome setup you've got there

Jim Carr Thanks, this is a bit of a prototype, most of the ideas borrowed from other machines I've seen but trying to get exactly what I want before making the final version.

Oooooo pretty... Looks like it addresses some of the feeding difficulties of the V2 by shortening the distance between the annealing drum and feeding drum caused by case taper. What did you use to make those two drums? I was thinking that for the feeder drum I could use a styrofoam tube like the pool toys for kids and cut notches into it sized for different calibers, but I'm not sure how I would hold it onto the motor shaft. Also, I'm hoping to get away with a single speed controller but I will probably end up buying a second so I can set the speed of the annealing drum based on brass temperature and then worry about the feeding mechanism's speed. What temperature should I anneal brass to? I will be home in a week and will be able to start working on my first prototype! I'd like to join your project and may start posting on the Ozzy forum if I come up with anything worth anyone's time. So far I have thought of an improvement that could help feeding reliability. I am considering a long feed tray at a shallow angle and a feed drum with the center mounted at the same level as the end of the feed tray. Finding a cheap and easy material to cut for the feed drum would allow me to cut drums for each caliber to minimize feeding jams. I would cut the leading edge of the slot at a slight angle to help the case roll out onto the ramp between the feed drum and annealing drum. The trailing edge of the slot would be cut at the same angle as the leading edge to help the case stay in the slot on its way up and over the feed drum. I'll try to draw it when I get a chance. This may be a very stupid question, but what can I use as metal for the ramps? Thanks and great work!

Steven Winegar The drum is made from acetal or delrin, I can't remember for sure now, let's just say engineering plastic. Youcan just use aluminium angle for the ramps.The earlier setup used a rocker arm and cam on the rear of the drum to feed the cases but they always got stuck in the hopper and wouldn't feed properly. It would work fine though on a long shallow angles feed ramp.

2 motors on seperate pots?
@wombatordnance297210 жыл бұрын
Martin Tardif Yep, it is for now. Some advancements coming shortly with a timing belt drive on the rear so there's no playing around timing the feed roller and the drum.
