It's a good album, but 'Pure Holocaust' and 'Battles in the North' are untouchable for me.

The album before (Blizzard Beasts) sounds like absolute dogshit. Not in a cool, kvlt, Black Metal way, but in a 'who the hell' produced this garbage kinda way. This was a bit too nice sounding for a Black Metal album, a bit too warm... but Immortal became a bigger, more mainstream proposition around this time so it made sense (as BM became more acceptable). I'd say it's the third best album though...
