I was in Prague for 2 weeks in 2004, but I remembered this phrase for the rest of my life! It turned out that today I can pronounce it without mistakes.)))

Same here. I visited in 1995 and 1997 and all of us were mesmerized by the announcement Although, if I remember correctly, there was no "prosím" at the time.

I have lived Prague for 6 months and I used metro a lot, so I realized that I missed the metro announcement in prague's metro and I searched "prague metro announcements" in youtube. after a long time I heard again and I became so peaceful:)

Thank you for your nice video! I lived in Prague in 2007, and many times I have visited Prague. But every time I wondered the announcement in Prague Metro. Now I can clearly understand it. Thank you!

Oh, I'm Polish and I was in Prague, but I didn't understand the first part. Now I see the similarities, but I just wasn't expecting them to say "finish getting off and on" :D

I've been to Prague a couple of times, and this phrase I'll remember forever. That was woman's nice.

That must have been line A, it has a woman's voice. Every person who stays in Prague for at least a couple of days gets this phrase engraved in their memory.

Nice video Zuzka! I remember when I first travelled the metro, way back in 1992, it was the same, except, without prosím.

It's interesting that before there was a less polite version.

Thx for making this explanation video, very clear. You realize that when you understand this little phrases, it's not just yourself as physical but your mind which travel inside yourself. And that change the whole context. Dekuji. I got the experience for stay in Prague for some months and really thoughtful sojourn. Praha je magická. I’ll keep it up with your learning videos. Thx

I have been to prague a few times in the 80's and the announcement already existed, it was so omnipresent that I remembered it without knowing the exact words. But I am quite sure there was no 'prosím' in it at that time
@CzechbyZuzka2 жыл бұрын
Interesting fact! I assume they added a newer recording with "prosím" to soften the tone.

That would be in Croatian: "Okončajte, molim, ulaženje i izlaženje, vrata se zatvaraju" or also can say: "Okončajte, prosim, istup i nastup, vrata se zatvaraju" But first is more common, the second sounds a bit archaic :) The next stop is: / Slijedeća je postaja:

This was my first moment were i felt in love with czech language as i heard this announcement in the metro. It was my first time in Prague as a teenager and after that i startet do learn czech a little bit also because i wanted to treat the people in this beautiful city and this beautiful country with as much respect as possibile speaking a little bit their language. Maybe i should restart and refresh learning. Warm greetings from Berlin, your neighbours and friends =)
