Huge respect to Japanese PM for staying firm on his decision to host this year. Yes , there has been rise in cases in Japan , but numbers are not too overwhelming (vs any other country that would have hosted imo). Japan's biggest lost hosting this event is just money, so I dont see any reason why people would comment things like "Tokyo 2020 Olympic went wrong, lack of audience!" and stuff like that. I doubt, if either Spain or Turkey gets the host, they'll probably withdraw themselves completely out of this to avoid the dangers instead of improvising to make it work in a slightly better way. The pandemic is at fault here, not Japan so dont go bashing them for what they have tried to do. They tried to make it work as best as they can, if you cant respect that, then dont say anything at all. There's a quote on the internet, shared across platforms; "If you cant say anything nice, then dont say anything at all"

I really wish Istanbul would have won this one. I traveled there for a Study Abroad trip in 2011. Most beautiful city I've ever seen and the Turkish folk are so welcoming! More so than most places. I am from Southern Texas and that is saying something. But I am still happy for Japan though since I love Japanese culture too. On my bucket list is to go to any Olympic games one day since I am a huge fan of both summer and winter olympics.

Fernando Miranda Yeah, one of the students was focusing on music for his project and since it was connect to prayer, he was allowed and encouraged to focus on that for his final project. So while in Instanbul we got to see the Whirling Dervishes. In Izmir we did get to see Ephesus. That was my favorite area to visit. The sea was so beautiful! I never saw water that blue before.

I'm happy that Tokyo will host the Olympic game in 2020 because I'm Japanese, but I think Istanbul should have been picked out at this time. Istanbul attend the bid 5 times and their idea, the Olympic being hosted between 2 continents, sounds amazing for me! I hope Istanbul can host the Olympic in the near future. I'd like to see it.
