This is one of the *_BEST_* Business Decisions Jagex could possibly make for Runescape in General. One of the Biggest Flaws of MMO Games as a product is that they constantly change (for better and worse) which eventually leads to loss of quality/integrity to form in favor of Novelty which leads to gradual decline in community population and by therefore inevitably minimal/limited feedback from a much smaller unbiased playerbase. By Creating "Custom Servers" you can let consumers have/make literally whatever best parts of the game they like most out of ALL OF THE YEARS of content that have existed in RS _(2009-2012 updates, specific minigames, old/removed/dead content, new community/player designed content, replayable quests, etc...)._ You're giving the players their Cake AND letting them Eat it too, AND Tapping into a passionate modding labor force that could help you get new things done A LOT FASTER and breathe new life into the game in amazing unimaginable ways, Like The Skyrim or Minecraft Modding Communities. I might just be a humble Player of almost 2 decades, but I think this COULD be the path to cementing the Quality and Legacy of Runescape for Many Decades to come. *_Keep up the Good Work Lads!_* 🔥

Extra Note ~ Another Great Reason this is an amazing idea is because INEVITABLY, no matter how you update or don't update the main game, there will always be other players that disagree/dislike things or prefer them another way. In giving your consumer base the ability of customization, you can cater to most if not all possible demographics of players both old and new without alienating anyone giving the best quality experience in the eyes of the player _(e.g. "the customer is always right"),_ and retaining as mamy players as possible! If runescape had this back in 2012-2013 it never would have declined as much as it had. My advice, take this project slow but steady so that you don't burn out financially but keep building towards it being a main feature of the game.

As someone who avidly watches RS videos online and has for the better part of 15 years, I haven't actually PLAYED the game in YEARS. I work full time, have commitments and am so time-poor to be able to commit to paying membership where I weon't achieve anything in a 1-2 hour casual playtime. This project would be *awesome* for me. Servers with Leagues-style enhances XP rates where my progress isn't cancelled after a month? Servers with enhances drop rates where I can still feel rewarded from "the grind" but is balanced in my time played? I would happily resub in an instant if this were the case!!! Looking forward to seeing how this progresses and how this will benefit time-poor adults like me

Yes seems very fun to me aswell. like me as an adult I also have limited time, then for certain skills I need to grind hundreds of hours too max is not an option. Increasing EXP rates and decrease loot rarity (not by too much, but significantly) would make my time playing the game so much more enjoyable.

It's a great and necessary update, it pretty much guarantees the game will continue to have a long lifespan. I guess the main concern people have would be how many players will be playing the original game. I believe it won't affect the main game much and that people just need to wait and see. It will likely increase the overrall player base with the content you can make.

For real. I plan to play a permanent leagues server with friends who don't play at all, while afking my main. I can't imagine most people who consistently play would abandon the main game. It just won't happen.

Andrew Gower and Brighter shores November on Steam everyone. OSRS is a thing of the past and they're only going to cater to content creators and the zoomers who watch them. Not the the daily players. Cancelled my sub months ago. None of this matters and there is no reason to be upset because Brighter Shores is right around the corner.

I highly doubt community servers are going to do much to harm osrs, the game itself is iconic and as shown by how small the custom community is, it's obvious that the formulas haven't been perfected. However, I don't see this being that big of a deal if we can't edit the map or add in entirely new content for these servers. When this came in as a survey I was highly in favor of this and very outspoken on the idea that it could open massive amounts of avenues for testing new mechanics, reworks, skills, or even aesthetics if we were allowed to insert, change, edit, etc.

Project Zanaris hopefully comes w/ possibility to recreate a true oldschool worlds. 1 server per year from 2001-2007 like Project Lost City is doing. They completed 2001, 2003 and are almost done with 2004. Being able to choose your era is the most important to me, but must also the most difficult.

I had an interesting idea for a temporary game mode where you would start in runescape classic and complete tasks and quests to go forward in time in runescape to say 2004, complete some content from 2004 and jump to 2005, rinse and repeat until like 2012 lol. Just too technically difficult to pull off alone

I am doing just that. After 50 hours on 2001Scape I have completed all quests, defeated the strongest npc and got BIS gear. Now I've started 2003Scape with the same goal. After I'm done 2004Scape of project Lost City should be fully released

When I play Fortnite I often get burnt out on Zero Build and go and play custom games but what do I always come back to and spend the most time on by far? Zero Build. I love how this could technically enable us to create a dedicated TAS server for the people who just would like to play the game differently. No harm to the main game as the economy is seperated. summoning completely broke the game.. dungeoneering was amazing though, some of the rewards were op for the effort they took, but even as a minigame, dungeoneering would be awesome in osrs... it was the only time you could meaningful do a thing with someone else of an entirely different tier of skills, gear, and/or experience and have everyone actually contribute and do a group thing.

Community servers will be huge for the longevity of the game. I doubt I'd ever log into one, but alot of newer games have this sandbox mode and really hooks into the younger generations creativity early on. Bringing alot of revenue and new players in for little attention after-the-fact, and perhaps some new features inspired by this mode could make it into retail! Not to mention the fact it will remove the need for private servers for those who aren't interested in retail. Big win, excited to see it and what the youtube community creates with it.

Region/Chunk locked Snail Man mode. If you leave your zone for any reason, the snail starts hunting you. Once you’re back in your zone, the snail walks its way back to its starting position. That way you can get stuff from out of your locked zone, but only at great and terrible risk.

iamgen "HIDE AND SEEK" in a area that the winner moves on to the newxt area ... and there are a few lvls that u can enter the next game when ppl are rdy to start... u can turn in to bushes items and the one seeking has a bow or somthing that klicks on stuff but has a few arrows so they can not shoot a lot if they die everone moves on to the next match with new seekers. the ewinner gets a fun outfit for seeker and hider experts -hider potato to change u into difrent items/things -seeker bow- that has glowing arrows that explode desert area castle area zoo area cave area etc final area is a mash up ov everything so u can become any item/thing
