Hey, Doc! Welcome back. I got Anodyne when it came out and it turned out to be a lot of fun. Some people point its flaws, which it does have, but I loved the environments and the air of mystery. Although there aren't many weapons available, some of the "dungeons" are pretty good and the overall map itself is nice. The totally vague narrative is a plus for me because it let's you think about it. That's a good game for those who like a lighter than Zelda approach

Well, if it's any consolation, I really did enjoy playing through it. It reminded me much more of the sprawling adventures of my childhood, the Lufias and Manas of yore~ if I had no classic gaming experience, I might focus on the flaws, but as it stands, I found it refreshing and a lot of fun. 😎👍

Good review . While I respect the quality of the game and the players that enjoy the challenge, I get tired of this type of game . I don’t enjoy going around finding stuff and figuring out the map . I feel real life has enough of focus and problem solving for me . I prefer games that keep it simple , action , some light RPGs, things like that . But I love the deep concept here.

Solid review. As cool as the visuals are here (I'm a sucker for top down Zelda likes) I don't think I'd enjoy the directionless exploration in this style of game. It seems needlessly time consuming instead of something that adds to the story in a classic style metroidvania.
