It just boggles my mind that the people who had Mia didn't call you sooner, she needed to be with you and she could have found a foster mom and out with a troop already. People are so ignorant, they kept her till she started biting which it shouldn't have gone that far.

I don’t understand why people keep getting these animals as pets. I suppose they either don’t care to do any research first or they figure that *their* baby somehow won’t grow into a bigger monkey and start behaving accordingly.

They get milk in troop up to a year old, from the feeding stations. Generally it's 2 bottles per baby, 3 times a day. That's why teaching them the feeding cage in human care is so important

Long-time observer of VMF: They will continue to get milk once they are out--for at least a year. VMF has developed enclosures available to the little ones once they are united with a foster mom. It's quite amazing to me that the foster moms will wait outside these dpecial enclosures while the juveniles get their fill.
