What happened in that Dumb and Dumber scene is the guy they pranked was trying to kill them with poison tablets, but has an ulcer that he has pills for. When they put hot sauce in his food, his ulcer flairs and they try to help him get his pills but inadvertently give him the poison tabs instead. The reason “check please” is funny in context is because they think their prank killed the guy and are trying to duck out of this very heavy situation by using a catch phrase Harry probably saw on TV or in a movie. It actually works because it’s overplayed. We’re all witnesses of attempted murder on that classic scene.

I think the thing about Leftist, Breadtube political content is that... [1] Too many Leftist content creators have been hit by scandal after scandal after scandal. [2] Leftist political content has degenerated to the point that ethanisonline, In Praise of Shadows, Alec Gunter and Westside Tyler are now considered to be credible. [3] Leftist political content isn't as popular and doesn't pay as much. Reason [3] has been caused by reasons [1] and [2] but reasom [3] also means that Beadtube is _not_ important work. The "important work" that content creators do is to reach out to new audiences and spreads your points of view tp more and more people. If your content isn't buying your groceries, you're just preaching to an ever decreasing choir. Largely because that broader audience doesn't want to be preached to at all.

I have had to learn how to basically dissociate during the grittiest parts of my work to protect myself mentally from what I am seeing and doing. It works, and for someone who perhaps isn’t super mentally tough (like this guy), he might have to do that just to cover this sort of upsetting sociopolitical content.

I used to do makeup for a mortician. I quit after I had to do a partial face rebuild/reconstruction on a little girl who’d been murdered by her mom’s boyfriend. (Mom had been murdered as well) but her grandparents wanted an open casket to say goodbye to the little girl who’d been 🔫 in the face. RC's first 30 or so videos were 10/10. Really taught you something about film history and style through time. He has become very formulaic. Also he is much more of a straight essayist, and not a video essayist. Very often when he talks about something, the video shows something unrelated. This is a shame especially when he really could use the video to illustrate something the audio says. (Like the claim that "DOH!" from the Simpsons is now widely used outside of context. I have never heard that. Showing it used outside of context would help.) Instead, the video just seems to be there to keep your attention most of the time. Could be Temple Run or Minecraft, and little would change for most of it.

He started his channel by making theories on movies, and then when trump got elected apparently movies meant litterally nothing, and you should never read anything into every movie ever. Ray Finkel isn’t even transgendered. It was implied he murdered the original Einhorn, took on her identity as the perfect cover to avoid getting re-committed or recognized, and played the long game on a revenge plot against the Dolphins and Dan Marino who he blames for his fall from grace. He’s just super committed to the plan. The movie never even mentions him ever feeling like he’s really a woman or that he’d be dressing as Einhorn if it weren’t for his need to remain disguised. That's the thing though, Ray Finkle from Ace Ventura isn't even trans. He stole a dead woman's identity and was using her as a disguise to destroy the people he thought ruined his football career.
