Even ignoring the guy's serious social missteps, this dude doesn't get how shady his charity looks. The website is broken and mostly empty of anything you'd expect from a reputable charity, they help one person a month (so, twelve a year. Got it.) and he even says they deposit it directly into a person's paypal. No oversite, no followup-- the dude is running a lottery, not a charity.

rightoids need not apply. It sounds like he linked the PP to his _personal_ account. He needs to take 501c3 docs to a bank and set up a business account. Also needs to give money to recipients via check or bank draft. Paypal sending outbound is sketchy for a charity, also easy for the charity to be scammed. Funny enough if he had pictures handing out checks on website, he would build credibility.

1. Having the chance to “give back” to the audience that made them doesn’t NEED to be via this guy’s organization. If that was really a valid argument, those KZbinrs might be donating to something else that gives back to their audience. chronic lyme is bs from what my doctor tells me, and even fibromyalgia is such a huge gray area. he diagnosed me with fibromyalgia, and i will admit i had been a bed blob for a couple years (thankfully i got out of it). my pain has reduced, its a real thing, but its a really complicated confusing condition if its a condition at all. this guy is pathetic and bro is quite literally enabling people to just give up and lay in bed all day. please dear god people, get an active hobby, get a job, find something you enjoy that isnt electronic based
@GusBried23 күн бұрын
Is it bs though? Cause it just sounds like a weird way to refer to Lyme disease... Which if not caught early is absolutely horrific, there are stories of people having their personality completely change over a couple months, get hallucinations, in addition to a lot of pain and chronic tiredness. And then there's a whole list of other very varied symptoms... And it's easy to miss it; once the tick is gone the doctor basically has to guess you need to be tested for it, because of how many different symptoms there are. Is the only evidence that he faked it calling it chronic Lyme? Cause that's not really evidence of anything...

THIS GUY AGAIN Harmful Opinions did a video on him! He needs to learn how charities operate. Take a portion of the funds and set them aside for charity operations to continue next year. The funds are used for events, dinners, advertising, travel, etc. Then instead of sending paypal funds which is sketchy, you fly in and deliver by hand a check/bank draft to the recipient. Then you can ask to take a picture handing the check and put on your website for building credibility. Also it sounds like he linked his PP to his personal account, he might be comingling funds. If that is the case he needs to take his 501c3 documents to a bank and set up a business account for the charity.

Chud is wrong about how tax brackets work. Only the extra money beyond the threshold is taxed at the higher percent, so there will never be a situation where the charitable donation saves you more than it costs. (The only arguments for it are things like it being beneficial to the business in other ways like perceived good will by the community, which I don't think would be the case giving to Never Stop Scammin' as the charity of choice.)
@ravener9622 күн бұрын
You could conceivably conceal some parts of your operation under a charity, and have the money from the charity both be tax free and somehow flow back to the parent company. Im thinking of something in the lines of "laptops for childrens hospitals" type deal where a company can donate laptops for tax credit and then sell support to the hospitals getting the laptops to recoup.
