He will do better than a 19.9. He's started this year better than last and always knows how to perform when it matters most. Some people can argue that he won't make the podium and I see why. I disagree however and think it will be Lyles, Tebogo and Andre de Grasse with Knighton not too much behind. Zharnel is also looking good but I feel he's just got the performance of his year and wont improve much in the 200 this year. He can medal in the 100 though.

@@alansamuel2454 i completely agree. A lot of people say that Andre is won’t even get into the finals. Andre is just a master at being able to peak when it matters and pull up with an insane time when we least expect it. I could see him making the podium, however I sadly don’t think he’s taking out Lyles just yet. I think Andre isn’t exactly at the form he was at the Olympic but making quick and steady progress. My prediction is that he will run somewhere between 19.7-19.9 by the time worlds comes around.

@@ultraniter691 Same I doubt he will or even can beat Lyles right now. It just doesn't seem possible. And to a degree the guy deserves it....his consistency is insane and despite Knighton and Tebogo coming into the scene he's the one who started the conversation of Bolt's WR ever going down. I'd honestly feel sad if he doesn't get it. What's your opinion about other events like the 100 and the 400 if you don't mind sharing?

@@alansamuel2454 Brace yourself this gonna be a long one; I feel like the 100 is fairly self explanatory. Most of the times all athletes have been producing haven’t all that special lately, that being said I can see Kerley dipping under 9.8 in similar fashion to last year. Then I got Omonyala and Hughes or Tebogo for the runner up. As for the 400, I’m going to give this one to Wayde Van-Niekerk. Like Andre, this has definitely been a great season for him, and would be very surprised if he doesn’t break 44 or at the very least medal. Unsure about the runners up, I don’t necessarily follow the 400 as much.

@@ultraniter691 Nice analysis. Yep, I agree WVN will get the gold, there's actually a very slim chance he won't medal. He has had a patient, well-calculated recovery since the injury and can dip under 44 seconds right now. At least he has the potential to do it. And I really am rooting for him to, it's so redeeming to see a legend like him overcome and return back to global competitiveness. To be honest, I really don't have a clue about the 100m. I have no idea what will happen although of course, I have my picks - Hughes, Kerley, and Omanyala in no particular order.

Poorly run meet. I was watching it on Peacock and the triple jump had people raking the pit they looked like they were recruited them from off the street. They were leaving lumps and holes in the sand where they land. That alone shows me that this meet did not bring in officials and people that knew what they were doing. It doesn’t surprise me in this 200 m race that they had the 100 m splits all messed up.

Usain Bolt was famous for his top speed thanks to his long limbs. Degrasse is also known for his top speed but he's not tall, nor as muscular as most of the other top sprinters. I think Degrasse is rather more slim so he doesn't quite have the explosiveness acceleration but has better turnover and mobility for the 2nd half of races.

I agree with all the comments on one side and the other. DeGrasse is like the old Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce, whereas he is often very slow early season, then, suddenly shows up at a championship. I do feel, however, he is losing his abilities. In the past, he was such a scary talent they gave him $13M to become a “Bolt Killer”, and tons thought he was doping. Now, no one notices him until he pulls a surprise. He’s definitely on the decline.

He's good, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think he'll be a threat at Worlds in the 200. I choose Lyles to win, and doubt De Grasse will podium. In fact, there is a good chance he will not make the finals imo.

@rayflaherty3441
@rayflaherty3441 11 ай бұрын
@@alansamuel2454 It's based on his times, and the fact that he's recovering from a serious injury. I think only men who break 20 will make the final. There are 18 who have done so this year, and he's not one of them. He may surprise us and improve enough in 2 weeks to get into the finals, but I think it's reasonable to say there is a good chance he won't. No offense intended to you or TRP.

I think you're giving him a little too much credit. I agree that he will run faster at the world championships than what he has run all season, but the top guys this year are just so damn fast. It kills me to say this, but I think Letsile Tebogo will win, with Noah Lyles in second and Erriyon Knighton in third. What I hope happens is for Erriyon to win, Noah for silver, and Kenny Bednarek for bronze. It would be nice if Tebogo does not get a medal, his cockiness in previous races shows a lack of respect.

Lol you really hate cockiness don't you? I don't blame you, kinda get it being a athelete myself but you really gotta admit the guy is peaking at nearly the perfect time. As long as his 19.5 wasnt the performance of the year like Knighton's 19.49, he has a very solid chance to podium.

Like you, I believe Tebogo is going to win the 200 metres at the World's. Especially if he is drawn inside Lyles in the final. I can see this man running sub 19.3 if conditions are favourable. I assume he is running the 100 too?.. If so watch out for him in this event also. He will never win any popularity/personality contests for sure though, but this confidence seems to convert into relaxation at speed.

@@neilmcguinness4422 Betting against a guy who has been undefeated since Tokyo, had the WL for 5+ seasons and is the 2 time world champion and the AR record holder over a prodigy who most likely ran the race of his life and still lost to Lyles' third best? I don't know man, you might have to reconsider that one dude.

@@Pumpxkin All you say is true. Noah Lyles has made a believer of me and just about everyone else since he first appeared on the International stage. I never thought I would bet against him over the 200, but the way that Tebogo closed in on Lyles over the final 10m when he ran his 19.50 really shocked me as Lyles was really going for it obviously. I know betting against Noah Lyles is a dangerous thing. The man is capable of running 19.2; but I can see an upset here. The only thing that I can say for certain is that the Men's 200 at the World's promises to be a Battle Royale @Pumpxkin.
