Took 4 people with me who had never seen a live game before, including my 10 y/o niece. Figured that a nice calm Buffalo game would be a nice introduction to the Avs... Boy was I wrong on the calm part! I've seen lots of in person games and that one was for sure the craziest. When Wedge went down, Ball went nuts. Like absolute nuts. I almost thought the crowed was going to turn! So electric being there. The drive home was full of all my newbies talking about how much they loved it. So the Avs just gained 4 new fans lol

That was a stressful game for sure! My wife and I went to the game in Buffalo, she's a Sabres fan. We watched this game and at 0-3 she said, here we go, time for Buffalo to blow it again, and they did just that! Let's Go Avs!!!

I feel bad for Wedgewood for getting injured and i hope he'll be okay because I thought he played well. it was just the defense in front of him that I thought was lackluster on all three of those goals imo. He deserved better and it was a Clown move for Benson to celebrate the way he did on that fourth goal.

Remember when Kuemper's mask came off right before a goal scored? The ruling was imminent scoring chance with a puck in the slot. Perfect juxtaposition to this play, where the puck was in the corner. Luxmore got it wrong, Toronto got it wrong, betting sites win.

Protect the goalies NHL your referees are a joke making rules on the fly that allowed goal was a disgusting move by those refs and they should be suspended for as long as Wedgewood is out

I had the Halifax Mooseheads scoring the tying goal on my bingo card. I'm not joking, I sensed that coming while watching Bednar's last whiteboard timeout. Toews though knocked me clean outta my chair. Bednar pointed out that there's stoppage for injury in nearly every game, and that it had already happened once before in the game (Chris is pointing this out as I type this). Plenty of time for that ref to stop the play as soon as he saw Wedgewood on his side in the goal. Can't imagine how much more obvious that could have been.

That was definitely an emotional roller coaster of a game! There's so much to say, I don't even know where to start. I was super angry about the goal call and about the possibility of Wedgewood being hurt (after we are finally solidifying the goalie situation) that I had to turn it off for a few minutes. After I calmed myself back down, I turned it back on. After what happened to Adam Johnson, player safety And how dangerous this sport is has definitely been at more of the forefront of my mind. I just think how quickly that escalated. What if Wedgie had been bleeding under those pads and you couldn't see it. I know there's a fine line of the players being tough and not trying to turn into other sports where people barely get touched and act like they're mortally wounded, but there has to be a balance. I loved seeing Bednar fired up in his post-game conference. I couldn't figure out why altitude cut away from it so quickl. Then they explained that he was using colorful language. I think we saw a much more unfiltered bednar and I love it! Like he said, just be consistent. This one can probably be chalked up to human error, but I definitely think that player safety needs to look at this and have a conversation with the linesman.

At this point nothing suprises, the NHL has made it abundantly clear that whole "caring about players safety" doesnt include Avs players. Teams have always gotten away with attempted murder against us so why would the league start caring about the safety of our goalie. Freaking love seeing Bednar so openly pissed

It took wedgewood getting injured for the Avs to wake up this game. It was so boring before that, and after that, I thought the Avs were gonna kill someone. Went from one of the most boring games of the year to one of the most exciting games over the past few years when the Avs refused to show up to the center for puck drop after the wedgewood injury goal. Side note, this game was called so incredibly lopsided. It doesn't surprise me at all that they blew the play dead for Moose's and not for the wedgewood injury just having watched that game all the way through. It was called absurdly one sided

Bednar would've sent an even clearer "you fucked up idiot" message if he challenged for missed stoppage instead. He just might have gotten the goal overturned. And even if it wasn't overturned imagine the referee having to announce "I'm doubling down on being an incompetent pos, goal stands, fire me NHL".

DPoS should be scheduling a hearing for the refs. They wont becuse the NHL is gutless when it comes to accountability for the refs. Also....i get that the play wasny dead, and benson needs to play as if it hasnt, but how are you gonna drop a celly after that?
