I hope your rules relax soon. FSD is just marvelous. Not perfect but getting better with every update. Earlier this week i drove about 90 miles each way over some low mountains to the coast (Oregon) and back. FSD was active the entire trip both directions. Just one intervention where i took over. Otherwise i just was along for the ride. The car now controls the speed for conditions and traffic. It makes such drives so relaxing and enjoyable. I feel it makes me safer. It's watching 360 degrees all the time backing up my observations. Oh, forgot - i like my silver model y.

Considering it has Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and all the other local towns to serve. 8 chargers isn’t enough.

I believe if you adjust the maximum charge limit while charging on a trip, the time until you can continue your journey switches to be how long until it hits that new charge limit. If you don't change it or do it before hand, it's fine. At least this is what I believe does that but not often I change it either but do for same reason you mentioned where car is charging too fast and might get idle fees.

Great video again. Good you are showing that sometimes even Tesla can make some odd calculations when charging. Happened to me once too. It told me to continue charging 30 minutes even if I had more than enough to drive home. I switched from percentage to milage on the battery symbol and saw that I had more than enough milage to come back home so I disconnected. When arriving home it was far from empty. Regarding autopilot I had some problems on regular B roads that we have a lot of in Sweden. When meeting trucks especially in right hand turns the car panic brakes because it obviously thinks I'm going to ram the truck. It's just a short brake but it's really harsh and unpleasant. My Volvo did autopilot a lot better in those situations. A trick I tried is when meeting trucks in right hand turns is to keep the foot on accelerator pedal ever so slightly to show the car it's okej to go on. And that gives much fewer unpleasant brakings. So it seems your observation that autopilot in all forms are made especially for US roads and conditions seems to be right. Think our European roads is so far a little bit to tricky for our beloved Teslas. I'm hopeful they will figure it out for us eventually as they did with Matrix lights that are working like a charm.

There are two ways I can think of why the computer would tell you to charge longer than you need to: - no trip / destination is planned / entered - a message "you have enough charge to continue your trip" was dismissed In either case, the computer will go "I'm being told to charge up to X%, and that will take Y more minutes" If no route was planned, you as the driver may know "I have enough electrons in the tank to make this trip", but all the computer knows is "I need Y minutes to get to X%"; if a next waypoint was entered, the computer will calculate how long it needs to charge to get there, and will display "you have enough charge to continue your trip" message; if that message is dismissed, the computer will think "I'm being overridden, the hoomin behind the wheel wants to charge longer" and once more falls back to "need Y minutes for X% SoC (state of charge) I was told to charge up to" Disclaimer: I am in North America, I had no idea about restrictions on FSD outside of NA, this may be another place where the software I know of behaves differently than yours

beautiful countryside but then it's pretty over here on the other side of the pond, too. Sorry about the government gumming up the works. Here in the states I have had the opposite problem on tight turns, with the Tesla holding too high a speed through them (in one case around a limited visibility turn, a Tesla I am familiar with has in the past failed to turn enough to stay fully in its lane when traveling modestly in excess of the speed limit in AutoPilot (autosteer+tacc)). While using V12.3.2.1 FSD my Tesla is holding its lane on tight turns just fine (excepting for it tending to enter the turn a little too aggressively, and actually breaking a little going into the turn). Regardless, I have found that I can't use AutoSpeed without risking an expensive chat with the local constabulary, but even with that turned off, and the speed limit dialed in by road signs and my thumb, the car still accelerates harder than I'd like and travels a little fast around turns, even with the driving mode and FSD both set to CHILL mode.

It’s not really our government. Markets work better when there are rules - yours imposes things like side indicator repeaters and previously weird bumper and headlight rules. To sell into the market the product has to be compliant. These are global regulations- I disagree with the specifics but agree with the principle.

1. How am I driving illegally by moderating my speed? 2. What does the UNECE (United Nations) have to do with the EU 3. Do you think that Brexit means we make the rules? We are a small market. We take other peoples rules because we aren’t relevant enough for manufacturers elsewhere to bother faffing with us if we diverge. Which is why we dropped UKCA and went back to CE
@stevenbarrett76485 ай бұрын
@@justgetatesla wow someone got out of the wrong side of bed today !. So you are saying the United Nations decide if we can have FSD here in the UK ?, new one on me. Leaving Europe didn’t affect the US designed, Chinese manufactured cars ability to accept the FSD program but our Country rules affect its ability to be used, nothing to do with Brussels or the UN or anywhere else but here. The size of the UK isn’t a factor, neither was Brexit, we managed fine without foreigners designing our rules and regulations for hundreds of year before the common market / eu rocked up and being old enough I remember when we rules ourselves without interference from Brussels. We don’t need a nanny thank you.

I agree with you on the speed front - don’t speed! On the international regulations thing, we follow the international rules on cars because it’s good for our car industry. If we decided to do our own thing and impose a rule the others don’t have just to be different to Europe, they just won’t bother. Again, we tried to ditch CE because it’s EU, did UKCA which cost a fortune, then went back to CE. We are too small a market so we comply with the global standard which is UNECE. As do Japan and Australia as examples.

From what I understand, UN ECE is a United Nations regulation. This means that the US should be compliant with that too.
