Been following your journey for a while now. Congrats and hang in there. Just FYI, I ordered my F-150 Lightning Lariat in Jan 2022 and picked it up May 2022. I've had if for 6 months now. I know your around Cincinnati. I'm about 50 miles east. I love my truck and think you will also.

Congrats Joe. I’ve been rooting for you. Those dates can mean anything. Ford said my lightning wouldn’t be delivered until fall 2023. I’m actually heading over to the dealer right now to pick it up. Who knew.

@@JosephHerzog My advice is to make sure you have the scales deleted if they are equipped on your truck and also to not get the spray in bedliner. The bedliner can adds weeks to your build and Ford simply won't choose your truck for production if you don't delete the scales and smart hitch. Goodluck.

@@JosephHerzog Its good thinking in theory but as far as we know ford will not build your truck if you have it equipped. At least for now. We don't know when that is going to change. I'd rather have the truck than wait on it because of a minor feature like that.

I picked a new std battery Lariat at a local dealer. Wish I bought an extended battery. Pretty disappointed with the range of the std battery.

@@JosephHerzog I have a 7/16/21 reservation still, but I found this one at a local dealership. After having driven a standard battery for several weeks, I wish I had waited to find an extended battery, It basically has no range with mostly interstate driving. If I get to order one I'll trade this one in.

@@JosephHerzog They had a new one in stock. But I coulndt tolerate the range, I traded it for a 6.7 Powerstroke Superduty. I already cancelled my reservation too. IMHO the Lightning isnt ready for prime time.

I agree Randy. Back when I got the survey from Ford I was of the mentality that if enough of us put our foot down and spoke up about wanting the pro, they would make more. But that ship has sailed, I'm afraid. The way these prices are moving I felt compelled to lock in a price. I hate that I succumbed to what *may* have been a well thought out ploy on Ford's part. But at the end of the day I wanted an electric truck and when you compare a potential delivery date of "Spring 2023" to Chevy and GMC this seemed like it was worth a shot.

I was willing to take a chance on this truck because of the 39k price despite Ford's reliability, but with two price increases I think I'm going to cancel my reservation because the value/money is not there anymore and to make matters worst now I've seen a couple of cases of lightnings battery packs failing. I will like to see the numbers of cancelled reservations once more competition comes to the market like the new Ram which looks really nice and also on the short term because of the economic recession that we are living.

Interesting. It's important to remember that the "competition" you're referring to is still so far away, especially if you only consider the affordable "Base" trims. so when people consider cancelling their lightning reservation, they have to remember they're not delaying delivery of their electric truck by months, but years.

@Joseph Herzog Yes true, but when you consider that the working guy that wants a Pro version usually pays around 27k to 35k for an internal combustion equivalent that can haul for longer distances, fill up the tank in 5 minutes and have the already proven reliability of brands like Toyota then its time to consider if its really a good choice. Regarding the competition look what Tesla just did with some of their cars lowering their prices that forced Ford to do the same with the MachE so I'm thinking it will be interesting to see what's going to happen with the lightning prices once the first cybertruck deliveries take place, I know that can take a long time but I would be very upset if I had bought a Lightning and the Ford decided to lower the lightning price because they want to be more competitive. Also I don't think this is the best time to be buying a new car with the current interest rates.

I love my Lightning. The Pro was my original choice but like you, I took what was available come order time. The price has gone up twice since then. I don't think you will be disappointed jumping on the opportunity.

Agreed! Glad to know I'm not crazy. There's a whole crop of people who will want this truck even though they may not be in the 200,000 that originally reserved. Reselling (eventually, when that time comes) will be easy

Congrats on your XLT order. I have a Lightning Lariat on order scheduled to be built the week of January 9th. It's extended range, with max tow package. MSRP is ~$88k. Out the door price after delivery charge and sales tax is a little over $96k. Because of the high price, long delay, range loss when cold, range loss when towing and poor reliability of Electrify America I'm leaning toward not taking delivery. I may lose $600 deposit.

@@JosephHerzog I thought you just order it. How do you know. Many other utubers are already having many issues with there's from the range which you won't have to deal with because you won't have yours till the spring, to frunks not closing, seats no heater/massager not working, etc.

What color did you order??

@@JosephHerzog the colors, it was between the antimatter blue, and stone grey. Not a lot of stone grey around, so I went with that, and that color does hide the dust and dirt very well. Another note that no one is talking about is the wheels, I almost opted for the 312 package, with the 20" wheels, but the 18" wheels get better efficiency, and nobody is talking about that. 18" wheels are the way to go...

They can keep their $63,000 truck with 230 miles of range. No thanks, not me, I was only interested in an electric truck because of the price point and lower maintenance expense. If it’s going to cost more than a gasoline truck and only have 1/2 the range for towing, they can keep their overpriced battery on wheels. If it were me, I’d take delivery… turn around and sell it, and make $$ on some idiot that has more money than sense.

It is definitely expensive, and agreed, not a great option for those that tow frequently. The price proposition is definitely weaker than it was 12 months ago, no argument there. Will definitely sell when other EVs are available/getting delivered/ on lots/ battery ranges improve/etc

I agree that they will hold value until the market gets diluted more… I think you’ve made a smart plan. If I end up with a 1st gen Silverado I’ll do the same. Technology will definitely get better.
