Great video Dutchy! Very informative! I do agree with you about your boyfriend. It would be up to him how he views his own sexuality. There's no requirement to see himself as something other than straight but there's also no requirement for him to continue identifying as straight if he decides he doesn't want to because he's dating someone gender fluid. That's how I would approach the situation if I myself were straight dating a genderfluid person. It would depend on how I felt about my own sexuality. :)

It's been an festive season for me. I have been though some emotionally depressing stuff with a woman I admitted a crush to. I have been though a period of Self-Reflection and decided I should further explore my sexuality and be with a man instead. I feel like it's what I am meant to be with, but I don't know how to go about it anymore. Any advice on this?

I’d say expriment a bit sure, but try and be open with whoever you’re with. Make sure they know that you’re trying to figure things out really and aren’t necessarily looking for anything serious right away. Essentially in my view honesty is the best policy

I don’t know your history, hope this isn’t triggering but I was wondering if your ever confused or thought you might be confusing gender dysphoria with body dysmorphia? A part of my body I’m uncomfortable with sometimes is my chest but not sure if it’s related to gender (coz sometimes I love them), or if it’s just about my idea of the ‘ideal chest’ imposed by society which makes me feel like mine is “inadequate”. Can you be a pansexual cis man? Because I think that's exactly what I am. To explain: I've always been a very masculine man, I like men's things and clothes, I adore girls, I've been in training all my life, I fight in the octagon, but I never wanted to limit myself, and put labels on myself. If I like someone, that's it, it doesn't matter to me who it is, whether it's, she, her, he, him, they, them, etc., I don't care, so I have no complexes or prejudices , if someone suits me first of all as a personality, and awakens my curiosity and attracts attention, and then physically, I can be with them, and I bond with people very easily. That's why I ask, can you be a "cis" man and pansexual at the same time, because if not, then I really don't know what I am. Please someone who knows about this stuff, tell me what do you think? I come from a place where people think I'm an "UnGodly freak" for thinking and feeling this way, and I don't have anyone to ask who really knows to answer me the right way. So please, hellp? 😇

The last Q is a confusing one. As I feel like sexuality isn’t always strictly about gender but about physical bodies/sex too. Like if you’re only attracted to ‘female’ bodies (don’t know how to term this to be inclusive - but I mean physically like having a vulva/boobs) as a cis man - I feel like identifying as bi/pan wouldn’t necessarily feel right? But at the same time if you’re only talking about gender it is the correct terminology. I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently now I’ve separated ideas of gender and sex in my head - how we should have completely separate terms for both really. I feel like it would make describing our identities much easier. E.g a different word for being trans in a gender way and trans in a physical body way? I dunno - I haven’t really heard anyone talk much about this and maybe there’s some flaws in my thinking. Interested to hear others’ thoughts.

I kind of just view it through the lense of ancient sexual plurality, you can just have sex with whoever, genital and identity preferences aren’t wrong tbh, as long as you aren’t rude and shitty about it. There was a point in time in which sexual identity (gay/straight) wasn’t a thing, you just had relations with the person you liked and it had no bearing on you as far as being societally considered gay or straight

Hi Dutchy! I just found your channel while looking up how to tell my parents Im bisexual! I still dont have the courage to tell them straight up so do any of you have any ideas! My parents are Christian and believe that the LGBTQ+ community is a sin and every member is a sinner. Idk how to tell them im in 7th grade so they might say “its just a phase” but its not bc i know i like boys AND girls not just boys like im “supposed to ”. Acknowledging that clothes have to do with gender expression, and that that can be related to gender identity (which is what you seem to be doing) is just SO not the same as equating gender with clothes. Like, of course there’s going to be some connection. Gender is socially constructed, and that social construction comes along with some stereotypes about clothing. It’s not dependent on, or the same. But there being some connection is not surprising, or wrong.

I never met any one gender fluid. It would be difficult to constantly call them them or they at less they were in a group. I would simply call them by their name that should solve the problem. but it would be difficult for me to call someone who is biologically women he at less this person was transgender and looked somewhat like a man. just like it would be difficult for me to call someone who is biologically male and looks like a man she. I would have nothing against them but it would hard to remember and somewhat confusing.

(Thinking she isn't like "other girls" is "like a guy" and losing sight of reality because she doesn't look at anyone/anything else and just listens to the sound of her own "quirky" voice).
