I guess people can ask about having children.Did you think of saving sperm and if not do you want to be a parent? I know a FTM trans who first had children then had the operation. Any regrets about children?

@@queensigal i chose not to preserve my sperm. being 17, never having been in a relationship, at least as likely to end up with a cis man as a cis woman, never wanted any children, and even if i do, adoption might be a suitable alternative. all in all it wasn't worth the cost. of course this decision is entirely my own responsibility and if i do regret this i will only have myself to blame

People can indeed be obtuse and rude at times, and that's not acceptable in polite interactions with any other human. HOWEVER, it's no big surprise and it is not strange/abnormal for people to simply wonder about things they don't fully understand. I'd personally never ask these these things of anyone, unless perhaps they were a very close friend and they didn't mind. People need to use some common sense and decorum, but I'm just saying it's not inherently wrong or abnormal for people to wonder about these things. Doesn't mean it has any malicious intent, it's simply human curiosity.

You wanted to know why this person asked if you would like to be a boy again. Here's a simple answer: because there are trans people who do. There are regretters, it happens. Detransitionners have a right to exist and be allowed to speak their truth. If you don't regret your transition and you're happy being trans, good for you. But know that it's not always the case, so asking about how you feel about your choice to be trans is completely understandable, even if you might find it surprising, invasive or rude.

It's also a bit more understandable that it's insensitive once you realise how difficult it is to get the surgery (price, pain, surgery dates + surgeons and pschy evals). My point is that it's so difficult that a lot of transgender people don't get the opportunity for surgery.

I get that they're rude to ask people, but I understand the questions... most of them. Asking about the past... I can't see why anyone would give a crap, for the most part. Asking if you'd ever want to de-transition is mainly a transphobic wishful thinking issue, like praying the gay away. Any anti-trans propagandist has a handful of cases they scoured the net for just so they can use it against the whole trans population. Now, the biology stuff is interesting. I can see why people would want to know. The look... dude, there's websites for that... but the actual function is cool. I was confused about that stuff till they talked about it on Jazz's show. When I originally heard about that surgery, years ago, I automatically assumed it would serve no function at all, other than using the toilet, that it was all esthetic. Although people find it difficult to talk about on an individual level (props, by the way), I think the demystification certainly serves a broader purpose. People fear or dismiss what they don't understand. Basically, 'Transgenders don't really exist because I don't get it'.

It takes a courageous person to make a video like this. I commend you for the service to others you have given in this video. Mathilda, you are an incredible young woman and I hope your life is truly wonderful and happy. Just one other thing. Asking a woman, at an appropriate time, about lubrication during sex Is a thoughtful discussion to have for any couple. As a man if I love someone I want her to enjoy sex with me and I would want to know about this problem so we can work out a solution together. Lack of lubrication is not just a problem for Transgender women. It can also be a problem for straight women as well. It is loving and respectful thing to approach at the right time. I am not criticizing you, just trying to answer why a man would ask this question. Sorry for the long comment.

I don't worry about the questions, we're so rare the chance that anyone has ever met a trans person is tiny ...... folk really are just being curious, mostly there's no harm meant but we're a trotal mystery and folk don't know haw to handle that. Even my middle-aged doctor, who must have seen thousands of people every year, admitted to me that I was the first trans person he'd met ..... I'm always been told "But you're so normal !!" when I'm out and about because the only trans they ever see are the shouty activists that are popular on television news programmes. Loved the videos !!

I don't want to argue or debate. I just have an honest question: I understand that it's rude to ask the transphobic questions but if you're a man and you meet a cute trans girl, let's say in a club or so, and you're genuinely curious about getting to know her, why would it be rude to ask questions about her biology? Especially when you don't have any experiences with trans girls? I think there are many guys who are genuinely curious, but who don't have any experiences, and to forbid them to ask any questions about all the obvious thinks I find a bit odd...

It seems that providing people with clarity and education is very important to you. I really appreciate that. People are curious creatures, especially about others who are not like them. While some people might have an agenda and a mission to be mean and cause discomfort and pain, I might venture to say that many just want to try to wrap their head around something about which they know nothing and don't have a clue. I am one of those people. It's very discouraging to me that you answer the questions, but meanwhile continue throughout the answering process to disparage and criticize the people asking the questions. If you feel that way, why would you choose to engage? Wouldn't it be simpler and make more sense to either 1) not invite and not answer the questions, or 2) make a one-time emphatic point upfront that these questions are inappropriate when not invited, and then choose to openly answer the questions. I have questions, but now, I don't feel safe asking you. I will either Google the questions I have, ask trans people I know who are open to my queries, or simply remain uneducated. My intention is not to attack you here, so please, I would appreciate it if you refrain from attacking me. Thank you.

So. For me, I’m painfully straight. But I’ve got a transgender child and I’m trying to understand in a really fundamental way. I love my kids, but this is new to me and I’m desperate to understand so I can fully support. As a parent, I feel like I’m in a position to be a mentor and coach, but something like this isn’t something I can help with. Seems like a shit job as a parent to me if I can’t help my kid understand the world they’re in and the experiences they’re having. I’m trying to learn and understand to do a better job of parenting. This video, while clear about what’s offensive, is essential for me to help understand the the whole experience and yes, I’m going to be offensive without guidance. I don’t want to be offensive or make it worse, but I also appreciate this because it helps me understand what is appropriate and what’s not. Maybe you’ve already done a video on this, but my question is: What would be helpful for a young person to hear from their parents when they decide to communicate their identity.

I’m the husband of a trans woman. We’ve been married for many years. As a bisexual of a certain age I faced a great deal of discrimination. My father never spoke to me again when he learned that I was with my wife (this was before her transition but that wouldn’t have mattered to him anyway). My advice is to tell your trans kid that things get better. Adolescence is a rough time. It is going to be a compex journey with endocrinologists and psychologists and your body being under the microscope by others. Not everyone will accept them. Aside from that reality check, that you have their back through it all. That you’ll always be there for them. That being trans is beautiful and that there is a community of people that will fully accept you. That finding love and a partner to share life with won’t be a problem. The world is becoming more accepting everyday. To know hope and to not give in to the hate that they may receive. If you have any questions, just ask. Wishing you the best!

As a cis person who considers myself to be an ally…. THANK YOU and dusking for myself only really but I’m sure many would agree with where I come from, I GENUINELY just seek to understand the how and why EVERYTHING in the world works and trans people are part of existance and their worthy of my curiosity and understanding,,,, just like how geology works or how reptile vs mammalian sexuality works…. But as a human being I recognize trans people aren’t a specimen in a textbook/museum to be displayed for study….. but there isn’t another way to understand this part of the world I share existance with other than to ask or wish I could go study this in a museum/scientific sense but also aware of how socially horrible the implied ethics and social propriety are and how inappropriate scientific mind can feel frustrated in the intersection of my empathic self meeting my own complete open and vocal if not sharing too much with total strangers neurodivergent self is about why anyone still feels weird at all about sharing stuff…

Yes, these are very rude questions, and I would never even think of asking any one of them of ANY woman, trans or not. You are SO courageous for answering them. Just know that there are a lot of us our here who love and support you, Mathilda. Who don't give a crap what your "dead name" was. And who can plainly see that you are a happy, vibrant woman. Why would anyone even suspect that you might consider de-transitioning? Hang in there, lovely lady. You're AWESOME!! #OneOldMansOpinion
@corichin2156

Some people ask us our deadname so that they can deadname us. And some people assume, because we don't want to tell everyone about our genitals, that we are not trustworthy for dating. Firstly, ask yourself: Do you want to date the trans person? No? Okay, well then, that shouldn't concern you. If you are interested in a trans person, more than likely, you will have an intimate conversation. You're not going to just have random intimate conversations with strangers and people you barely know.

I think many of the questions answered in this I think the reason many may ask these question if they are trying to figure out if they want to transition themselves, others who ask any to these question yeah don't know why they would want to know.

You are a very beautiful and intelligent woman and I have learned so much about the transgender community from your channel especially. As a cis gendered woman I still struggle with understanding why anyone would chose to be a woman. From my experience and observations woman are sexualized and objectified much more than men. Men are taken seriously and thought highly of more frequently than woman. I am biased since I have had plenty of bad experiences for simply being a woman and I just can’t wrap my head around why anyone would chose to be the gender that is looked at as lower. I didn’t ask to be a woman and would love to have been born a male instead to avoid all the unfair treatment. My other question is kind of a difficult one, what exactly does being a woman mean to you? Is it the stereotypical factors such as wearing makeup, dressing up, being submissive, being emotional? Is it the biological factors such as having breasts for feeding a child, having a vagina to give birth, having a menstrual cycle for possible pregnancy? I struggle with understanding what the idea of a woman is to MTF since the stereotypical factors just enforce gender roles that keep woman lower than men and separated from men as well, and the biological factors are just for aesthetics since none of those functions are possible for what they are created for in regards to MTF. I don’t mean hate by this comment at all, it’s just a genuine and I think important topic to discuss. I appreciate you answering all the taboo questions non transgender people have.

Being a man I envy the freedom women have to choose occupation. Women in male dominated occupations are thought of as pioneers, trail blazers, and are celebrated. Men in female dominated occupations on the other hand are often looked down upon. I can't wear make-up in public without attracting condescending and ridiculing looks. Women have the freedom to choose whether or not to wear make-up. Women have a lot more leeway when it comes to clothes. It is permissible for women to show a lot more skin than men when attending formal dress parties. Sexually dominating women are adored, (just do a search for femdom), but submissive women are not looked down upon. Submissive men on the other hand are thought of as far less desirable. When it comes to hooking up, women have a clear advantage. An old (1982) study showed that an average looking woman had a more than 50% chance of hooking up when approaching single men at a bar. In the reverse experiment the men were always rejected by women. What I am getting at here is that all genders are different when it comes to advantages and disadvantages. Depending on your personal preferences and emphasis, one gender may be regarded as more desirable.

Its not so much gender stereotypes. If I was born female I'd be considered a ton boy. But ultimately I like both male and female things equally. I dont wear makeup im a bad cook but I love to bake and knit yet I love guns and hard manual labor I dislike cars and adore baths. Its just self identity. Either you are a woman or a man kinda thing. As much as I hate to say it and how much shit gets tossed my way the easiest way to say it is for m2fs we have a woman's mind. Its lamen terms yes but its the easiest way I can think if to explain something thats hard to explain. Women and men are definitly treated differently though. Ige always noticed it but I really noticed it after transitioning. Like ar work when something heavy needs moving before id get asked to help. After transition though my boss asked me to cover someone so they could help him. I yhink he could see the shit I was about to give him cause he was like nvm and walked away. Doors get opened for me I see dudes staring at me. Hilariously in my opinion anyways ive seen guys looming at my breasts and im only an a cup like seriously dude? Before when I'd cry for whatever reason I'd be avoided but now when I cry guys come to my defense. Try to talk to me etc. My God the hormones and the mood swings though. That took awhile to get used to. Sane with the strength loss. I cant even draw my bows anymore wich I used to be able to with ease. Guys talk over me wich never happened before. God forbid they listen. I work with alot of foreigners and the Muslims refuse to listen to me. My boss had me train one once and it was like dude what are you doing? He doesn't listen to me. So that can be frustrating but at the end of the day life went from being miserable. Just looking in the mirror hurt. Hearing your name hurt. Its like every single thing was designed specifically to hurt you. After transitioning though I go to bed happy and wake up happy. Looking in the mirror I like what I see. Hearing my name is meaningless. Blessedly meaningless. It doesn't hurt. Its hard to explain this suffering to someone who's never experinced it. Kinda like explaining bills to a kid who was raised by billionaires

The detransition question may be because places like here in America we don't have the processes that Sweden has and we do have a lot of people who end up detransitioning so I'm not sure if it as rude as is it seems at first glance or if it's a legitimate question because of detransitioners in places that don't have the same Medical system that helps a person to know all the information in order to make a knowledgeable decision. In America it is kind of like you can do it almost on a whim you can decide to transition and a year-and-a-half later have surgery for gender reassignment. The only real requirement here is that someone has to Act and dress the gender of their choosing for one year before scheduling surgery. Not trying to be rude I love everybody everyone even the ignorant they know not what they do. And I know you mentioned Maya Henry on one of your videos, she's actually where I found you.❤❤❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
