The merger is shown in the duplicationsand deletions found in the merged chromosomes and is the reaso we have 46 per cell where as great apes have 48. The fact that only certain creatures are found in various layers shows the presence of a change in fauna. The biblical narrative is as wholey as Swiss cheese.

Is the Earth 6000 years old? I honestly have no idea. It all comes down to Jesus for me. I can accept unanswered questions about creation if Jesus really lived, was crucified, and resurrected. I'd definitely recommend you do your research before saying something like this, all it does is prove you only listen to others instead of forming your own conclusions. Lucy's pelvic bone showed clear signs of being crushed, scientists made a mold of her bones, and then used tools to separate the broken pieces. On top of Lucy's bones, we've found over 300 australopithecus fossils. I really do hope you choose to look into this for yourself, it's a really amazing field of study

I wonder sometimes , why the people are sleepwalking through life , when all you should have to do is open your eyes , to see all the beautiful things GOD has given us. A good example and one that you mentioned is “Abiogenesis”, the studie of the origin of life. Note that it is called the study, not THE answer. We simply will never know for sure what went down, as many apologists say, and there is no denying that. But through observations we make now about certain chemical and biological concepts, we can attempt to make a model thats fits these current observations. I would ask myself that question and then go from there because how do we know if the earth is new or old? If I cut my grass and manicure it, it looks new... really? What if i don't it looks old .. Really? On the light travel conversation I would not worry as to how to explain it unless, you are going to study that and learn the theories of the science. God will give wisdom to anyone who asks in his name. In most cases that subject will not even come up. This is an excellent question and reveals one of the greatest fallacies I'm Christianity. Growing up as a Christian myself, I found myself asking many of the same questions. Now, as an agnostic, I realize that most of my questions had no real answer. Christians tend to cherry-pick their arguments based on if the Bible agrees with science. For example, the Bible says the sun and moon exist in parallel to one another, so of course it's 'scientific evidence for God' and not scientific observational evidence. The Bible also says the Earth is flat, but you'll never hear a Christian argue that (even though it's from the same book they consider to be holy) because it's obviously false. I'm really glad I'm agnostic now.

There's two books of Genesis in the Book of Genesis written by two different groups of people. And one version Adam and Eve are the first and then other version Adam and Eve are told to repopulate the Earth. Both versions of Genesis in the Bible got the order of creation wrong. The word creation is used to mean unverified history. We would need evidence of a Creator before we have a creation.

Creation As pertaining to creation I died recently and had the opportunity to ask God how the universe was created. He stated we are a giant self directing simulation. Suddenly I understood. In a computer program, I can build or create as fast as I can program. I also do not need to follow scientific timelines to create, but rather computer capabilities would determine what I could do. Under these conditions I can build parts, then activate and integrate them in any order I wish. Every glitch, every problem, everything considered a miracle, is solvable this way. On a hard drive I can easily create talking donkeys, burning bushes that are not consumed, and resurrect any one I wish, along with having universal floods and talking snakes. I also can have different realms not visible from earth, such as a heaven and hell. It makes total sense if you think about it. No other way does that I know of. As for the six days of creation God could have put in one part on each of 6 hard drives(one per day) than plugged them in(one per day) then balanced the program. Then on day 7 sat back to enjoy his work and rest. I bet those were 6 pretty hectic days. As for the positioning of distant galaxies, or the creation of the solar system as proof of the age of the universe, on a computer program I can place any object as far away as I want. I also can see it being flat, as this is the same here when we create things on our computers. God says that for those that will not believe “He will send strong deception such that you will believe”. I think this calculation of the huge ages provable from these measurements, is part of it. Next, atheist scientists try to use the day to day ways the universe works after creation to explain creation itself, and this is where the problem starts. The principles of creating a program are totally different from how it works after it is created. God Bless.

I love the answers being found and presented that give us the opportunities to answer questions that can lead to salvation for open hearts, but question on a couple things not necessarily related to these particular points. You (and some others) are trying to show how accurate the Bible is, but either you or I am missing something. Matthew chapter 6:1-6 Jesus says (and I'm paraphrasing) I have not come to do away with the law, not one dot or tittle shall pass away until all is finished. Obviously, the laws of Moses in Leviticus can't all be followed for reasons like: making a pilgrimage to the temple in Isreal isn't possible because there's no temple in Isreal anymore. But, on things like clean and unclean animals, we Christians seem to think that pork and catfish and some other unclean animals or ok to be food. How can we reconcile that? Saying that God showed Paul all the foods he could eat is wrong. Like you said, context is everything, and God was telling Paul that Christ would be salvation for the gentiles (who were considered unclean). Thoughts?

Great lecture. However, I'm struggling to understand how Genesis 1:29-30 proves there was no animal death. It only states that the man was a vegetarian. It is a leap of faith to say that this verse disproves animal death. Since animals were not made in the image of God, there would be no reason for them to live forever. Since animals needed a caretaker (Adam), this may imply their deterioration over time.

An example is certain parts of the Bible book of Revelation. It's true, if God wants it, he can do everything right away. Einsteins theory brings evidence that time and space came into existence together and all of the universe is moving from a single point bringing support to the Big Bang theory. Something outside of time and space had to have created universe and chosen to do so. Did you know that if the gravitational constant was moved just 1x10^40 of a decimal, the entire universe would have collapsed in on itself at its creation? 1x10^40 is equivalent to stretching a ruler across the entire known universe and moving the decimal an inch, if it just moved one inch, we wouldn’t be here. That kind of precision is found all over science and leads me to believe there must have a creator. Even the mere fact that a conceptual thing like math that only exists in our brains, can work, wouldn’t make sense in random universe. I think the what most Christians fail to understand about whether or not the Bible is authoritative or not is - it doesn't actually matter. Another great point about the starlight is that God created all the plants, animals, and Adam and Eve fully formed. He didn't create a bunch of eggs, babies, and seeds and then have to sit around and wait for them to grow. He created them already functioning and grown. Why would he create stars and then wait billions of years for the starlight to reach earth? The Bible doesnt tell us how old the Earth is. The Bible tells us that human history from Adam and Eve is 6000 years but it tells us also that Lucifer and the angels lived prior to us on the Earth. First Earth Inhabitants, Sons of God (These are angels, Seraphim, Cherubim etc.) (Job 38:4) "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding." (Job 38:6) "Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;" (Job 38:7) "When the morning stars sang together, and all the SONS OF GOD shouted for joy?" Lucifer alwas says to ascend to the heaven because he is under the clouds, so he must have been beneath / on Earth. (Isa 14:14) "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." Also when God creates he always creates with the appearence of age. When he created Adam and Eve they were adults same as nature, and Iam sure when he created the stars Adam and Eve didnt have to wait billions of years to see the light. So in the end we cant know how old the Earth is, human history 6000 years and thats all we really know according to the Bible. Look up the "Gap Fact" by Charles Lawson, Robert Breaker, Michael Pearl or Gene Kim.
