Hiya, I am just wondering if there is anything else that can be done to get out of fight or flight, in addition to EFT? (what is most effective) thanks :)

Hi Sebastian, This is a great question! There are loads of additional things you can do. Physiological sigh is great, meditation also. I used EFT only in my own recovery. Depending where you are in your journey brain retraining (thought redirection, visualisation etc) is helpful too. Working on the source is generally the most effective thing you can do. I have seen clients calm fight or flight after working on a few key events. That can be done with a practitioner who uses a mindbody modality like EFT or EMDR. With clients I use EFT mix of trauma (event work) and emotional release alongside nervous system regulation practices. Mindset, belief work through brain retraining once they're emotionally regulated. Ultimately the most effective self help things are going to be the ones you like and find easy to use and you use consistently. Hope that answers your question.

@@rachelAO Thanks Rachel, really appreciate the response. I had been doing some EFT and it improved a symptom massively, however then it gradually (over a couple of weeks) returned to how it was previously even though I was tapping everyday. Do you know why this may have happened? I guess this shows that I am definitely in fight or flight because meditation had a very similar impact. It just seems really difficult to create a lasting effect of staying out of fight or flight, as though my nervous system is strongly attached to being in fight or flight (it is a bit de-motivating). Thanks again
