You know what Ms Victoria? Rebuilding this entire thing will be a pain in the ass but, you will appreciate your work. Not only that, you will know exactly what you put into the build. Anything goes wrong, more than likely you will know what it is,and how to fix it. Remember, redundancy and extra parts is key. TTFN 😊

I deal with moisture control everyday. I recommend after the glue has set on the top that you one by one remove each of the exposed screws and squirt a sealant into the hole and re-install the screw. Don’t just top coat the screws with silicone as it will fail and water will get behind the screw. If you go to your local gutter/eavstrough installers shop and get a couple tubes of white “gutter seal” (Gutter Seal is the brand, it is not silicone) that is the best for roof sealing.
@sw5334

The manufacture is NPC. It’s a blue tube. Best product I’ve used for roof sealing on rv’s or sunroom/solariums etc.

Stuff designed for marine use is usually pretty good (sealants, glue, paint, varnish, wood etc.). By the way, I have you to thank for my rather late-life (55) realisation that I'm neurodivergent (ADHD) - I watched one particular video of yours which, along with a couple of other things, caused me to look into some of my character traits. The realisation has been a relief and I'm really happy to now understand why I think and behave the way I do (to be honest, despite some disadvantages, I love not being neurotypical!).

You might help cut down expenses by getting an E Bike to run to get groceries or whatever instead of driving the truck. Charge it from the truck while changing locations. They are nice for exploring trails and scenic driving in areas you are camping in. Solar charging is also possible. Are you putting solar on the roof of the popup???

I know you are fairly young, but we all at some point need to think about our long time future. Being you are basically self employed, have you thought at all about how you will survive in your later years of life? Are you at a minimum contributing to social security, or are you putting funds away for retirement? I know it's a long way off, but it is so important.

Unfortunately there are so few of the real honest career mechanic shops out there now and the labor rates are high. Just know there isn't anything you can't learn...doesn't matter what it is! Hi Torie! I am a railroader, and I worked as a contractor for FerroMex for a couple of years. If you happen to head down that way be sure to visit Copper Canyon, and if you have the chance to ride the Chepe train that goes through it, it was one of the most beautiful routes I ever been on. Guadalajara is my favorite city, and has the best food. Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, are the best beach towns on the west coast, and Xcaret is my "must visit" on the east coast. I know that you will find your own way if you go down there, but I just wanted to tell you about my favorite places in that country. That being said, I wouldn't solo it if I were you. I wouldn't solo it if I were me, and I know that place.

It's best to rebuild it entirely. After you're done you will know all the ins and outs about the camper, and it will be a reliable and awesome camper you will be able to enjoy for lots of years without having to fix anything or deal w any drama from it. If anything ever did need fixed again it would be super easy for you to fix considering you did it all before. If in the end you're tired of it or want to upgrade, u can always sell it and make a some good money on it bcus its completely rebuilt with records and receipts. As someone working on a lot of projects in regards, don't put tpo on it. I know it's recommended for being light weight but even professionally installed they leak within 4 years because of how crappy material are now. I would use flat roof material instead since it's 2 layers.

@@TorieRobot it's the white rubberish lightweight roof paper they put on the top to water seal campers , they just don't make that in hardy material like back than. Also don't use any OSB plywood, I would go with cdx which is usually 47$ per sheet (4ft x8ft ) it's more resistant towards moisture and it also has a higher rt value keeping the inside cooler. 😏

Thanks for taking time to make Q&A video, while working on your camper roof. I know you must be frustrated and inpatient with progress, but it will be finished soon, and new roads are going to open for you. I've always been a believer in mind over matter. If you don't believe you can achieve, your body will start to believe this and you'll be stuck, so don’t ever let anyone get you to believe that you are stuck. Move mountains, and do what you want, and do what you love and make you fulfilled. Never let fear or insecurity stop you from trying new things. Believe in yourself. And most importantly, be kind to others, even if you don't like them, they don’t like you, or if they are just jerks. I actually just wanna say I am proud of you and how much did you achieve, in every aspect. Stay you, Stay extraterrestrial P.S. and for me just some more love and support, positive energy and good vibes, inspiration and creativity my dear lady ✌️🌹🦹‍♀️🩵🐑🤍🛻💙🎗️💚💪🧡🤞💛❤️💛❤️💛

@TorieRobot don’t have a question, but I’m also remodeling a truck camper to live in exactly like you and posting it on my channel,. Mine was a little cheaper and I would say probably in worse shape but I don’t have any sponsors barely any viewers, but I haven’t given up yet and neither should you. This was a good purchase. The community supports you.

I have the same camper. With AC and solar on the roof. That system lifts it with ease And if you have an exhaust fan on high while lowering the top it sucks the canvas inward

Warning! Warning! Glue has a temperature range. Most maxes out at 140F before it lets go. I took a reading on my Jeep rear ceiling and it hit 183F. That is in the midwest. I did find that GE Silicone II goes up to 400F. READ THE LABEL!!

Tori, most times you can cancel those warranties and get a refund. They pro-rate it, but you should get most of your money back. Same thing on Gap Insurance if you ever get talked into that. Just call the warranty company and tell them you'd like to cancel. If they give you a hard time, tell them you'll call the Attorney General in your state and file a complaint. That usually gets them hopping...😂

I just recently found your channel, its very different from what I have been accustomed to but in a good way. I truly appreciate your honesty and your spirit. I feel for you on the camper/truck, me and my husband went through something very similar ( a Jeep though) and for us getting the warranty was a life saver, we had to get a entire new engine.... Hoping that is not your case and it can be a simple fix, really do. I enjoy the channel and your prospective in life in general.

At least when your done, you know the camper is sound and no hidden damage. Id rather have spent more money then another one and know its rebuilt correcly like your doing. Keep up the good work. I have a toy Hauler im doing the same to right now.

I had trouble repairing a roof because it is hard to eliminate all leaks. Even a small leak lets water get in and ruin stuff. I know you are on the right track with this because this camper is light enough and when you get your truck fixed it will be perfect for you. By the way good luck with your truck, wishing you the best outcome on this! Also hoping you can leakproof the camper roof. Your repair is interesting. .. ROBERT

Paint the polystyrene first putting on barrier layer then the glue won't melt it. Even water based house paint, plenty of layers.
