It’s neat to see how the body is made in the mold. BUT how do you accually come up with the making of the “mold” itself?
@sparky48784 жыл бұрын
There’s a whole season on Amazon about the making of this car. Assume it’s in the show. But I don’t have the right subscription to watch it.
@queeg64734 жыл бұрын
You first make a 'Buck'. You make the shape of the car out of wood, chicken wire and clay (I'm serious). When you have done all the shaping in the clay, you layer on gelcoat and thick fibeglass to make the first mould. From that mould you make the prototype body, which you then make perfect using body filler. Once you are happy with the finish and shape you can make the production mould, from which you make the proper car body. The thicker you make the production mould, the longer it will last, and the more bodies you can make out of it before it will need replacing.
@fasteddy9174 жыл бұрын
@@queeg6473 True. That's why the mould is so flimsy. It was there for a one off pull. Maybe two or three at best just in case there was a problem with one of them. If it was a production mould it have been a lot thicker.

@arburo14 жыл бұрын
@@timothydraper3687 It takes a very skilled pattern maker to make the master male pattern. The female is then taken from that, polished on the inside and then the final workpiece is moulded from that. Pattern makers exist in the big old world, and their work is highly sought after. The question is, who made the patterns and can we see a segment on the process, please?

In reality wheeler dealers would have gone bust years ago with their business plan, basically buy a vehicle at just below market value, spend 6 months restoring with no budget while Brewer spends hundreds on non essential bling and sell ,making about £200 profit and not taking into account the actual labour cost.really worth the effort .
