The cost of living in Antalya Turkey now in 2023 is the highest since 24 years.
Antalya Türkiye prices now are increasing drastically. The inflation rate in Turkey hits 83% in 2023 and the Turkish Lira is still losing value against the Euro, Pound and US dollar.
It has become hard on expats to maintain their living standards in Antalya, and it is way harder for locals.
Is it still worth it to move to Türkiye? Watch our quality video to get all the details about the updated prices and expenses of house rent, transportation (bus, taxi, scooter), cars, supermarkets, utilities, internet prices, and mobile bills.
If you are considering moving to Antalya Turkey, watch this video till the end so you can make up your mind.

Prices are high everywhere you go in the world, nothing is the same before the pandemic. My wife and i we both live between Alanya Turkey and the states, we are back home now, it’s crazy here in the U.S. ….compared to the west, Turkey is almost 50% cheaper.

Hi, you are right! Inflation is increasing worldwide and affecting many people. I agree with you that Turkey is cheaper than the west, but for the Turkish people, it is not cheap at all now. Even for the expats, it is not as before, the purchasing power is decreasing.

The meat costs as much as in Australia!?! That’s insane… I thought it was ridiculously expensive here, but turkey is way more. Our wages here are around $4000/month AU. But in Turkey I wouldn’t buy from a supermarket, I’d be buying all my food from the fresh markets every week. Supermarket just for soaps, bathroom things etc.

Right, that is insane. Turkey produces only 50% of the meat and imports 50% and whatever is imported to Turkey will be expensive. I agree with you. Sometimes, the weekly bazaars are good for fresh fruits and veggies.

Hi guys! It’s been a while since I watched a video about Turkey… it’s still cheap compared to here in Sydney Australia as we pay $10/kilo AU for tomatoes as an example but still, but still it’s ridiculous how expensive Turkey has become… I made a big mistake by not buying property back in 2020 🤦🏻‍♂️ everything doubled 😢 Anyway we live and we learn…

I really love the fact that Turkish people gives so much importance to their own Turkish language. It's a way to preserve your culture and be more patriotic. However, Turkish people can't also deny the fact that there's a world outside of Turkiye as well which the Turkish people have to interact with constantly for the progress of their own country. In that regard, English becomes a very important language to learn and adopt.

Thank you for your comment! 😊You are right! Antalya will always be cheaper than Germany and Miami, but compared to the salaries in Antalya, it is very expensive nowadays, where the minimum Net wage is €407 and a big portion of the nation gets this amount.
@TolgaKarlilar
@TolgaKarlilar Жыл бұрын
@@tiptopturkey A big % of the nation appears to get that amount, but there is a huge shadow market in Turkiye and most people I know have some additional untaxed income or rental property, and house ownership is quite high. Not many people work for minimum wage in Istanbul, for example, and if you're a professional, like a software developer you can make thousands of Euros a month. I know people in hospitals, and doctors get paid quite well these days. The problem with Turks, in my experience, is they are very picky with jobs and they do not want to clean or work in construction and refugees do those lower-level jobs at a much lower rate or minimum wage. Most young people are chasing that European or American dream instead. And yes this is the reality despite the economic crisis and currency collapse and that is also how you get high unemployment. (I'm a left-liberal pro-Ataturk type of person and no Erdo supporter, but this is how I see it when I observe different people). And finally, Antalya is not really the place to make money imo, if you are working for someone.

You are right, prices are getting expensive every where, but I believe different countries are affected less than Turkey as the minimum wage is low and prices are being similar to europe in many things. Also it is known with inflation that some items might get cheaper if you are using for currency but not in Turkey. For example here cars price are increasing drastically,, you buy a car for USD10,000, next year you sell it for USD 15,000 where I am still sutprised how they are managing to buy the cars. It is worse now since I published the video, 1 USD is equiv. To 26.14 TL.

As I've heard from a friend working in the real estate, housing sales are down but rentals are very high. Usually, the price of houses is tied to the USD, so if the Turkish Lira loses more value against foreign currencies, it would be good to buy now, but nobody knows. Also, for foreigners, note that not all areas are allowed to get a residence permit if you buy a house.
